The day after Thanksgiving and the restaurant @ 2:30 pm was full. An hour too early for happy hour but no complaints. The service was adequate, the outdoor seating after a 4 hour bike ride was lovely on a warm day.The music was blaring unsure what the intention was as it forced even the texting folks to talk above the noise. The four beef tacos with verde sauce were exceptional and the loaded beef no bean nachos were the best I/we've ever eaten. The chips were homemade NOT salty, the nachos were layered with amazing sauces. The homemade corn bread is part of every order and it, as the waitress pointed out, is the specialty!

Outstanding food. This has become one of my standard stops whenever I go through Tempe. I live in California with more Mexican restaurants than one could count, so I enjoy when there is a bit more time and flavor depth added to the standard meals. These guys have done that in an outstanding form. Go for the tableside Guac. where they mix in pumpkin seeds....Awesome!

Helpful staff, nice atmosphere, and some nice takes on Tex-Mex. The corn bread they bring to the table in its own cast iron skillet is excellent and the special for the night - their take on chicken fajitas - did not disappoint.

When visiting our daughter and her husband in Arizona, I always look forward to going to Z'Tejas. Known for their vast varieties of margaritas, the food also is outstanding. The anchiote chicken chopped salad is my favorite! Among its ingredients are grilled chicken, avocado, red cabbage, tomatoes, lettuce, black beans, corn, bacon, Mexican cheese and pumpkin seeds. The southwest ranch dressing brings it all together for the perfect meal. Each table receives a skillet of hot, delicious, homemade cornbread. Can't wait to get back there on our next visit to Arizona!
