Dear Lord. What a disappointment. First off....I'm a fan of wide open areas. Puts life in perspective. But the area where Four Corners is located is hot, dry, dusty, desolate, void of life, etc. Second.....the actual monument is cool but they shrouded the whole thing on ALL FOUR SIDES with Native Americans peddling their stuff. Jewelry, fry bread, rugs, etc. It completely cheapens the experience and shows you the real reason it's there. They could do so much more and it is the definition of "tourist trap" along with Wall Drug, Crazy Horse, etc. We will not go back.

Thank Jeff S

We stopped here on our tour through the National Parks of the Southwest. Road work was being done on the dirt road during heavy traffic and you had to pay a $3.00 fee (cash only) to drive in.
This place had the filthiest, dirtiest, most foul rest rooms I have ever seen in my life. No toilet paper and no running water available either. If they are going to call this a national monument a little more pride should be taken in maintaining this facility.

This is one of those rarest places in US where four states meet. These four states are Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. It is around 70 miles from Kayenta. Great feeling to be at the monument, spread your legs and hands across fours states, snap a picture. It was little warmer during Memorial day weekend. There is nothing else around this place so be prepared with extra water and food.

$3 per person so you can shop for Navajo products, the people there selling a nice but plenty other other place you can buy these. Not worth it, just an artificial spot on a map

The artists. The people selling wares were lovely, friendly, wonderful, patient and encouraging to my children. Taught them about the art they were carving, painting, jewelry, etc. Yes, some was "Walmart-esce"...but some wares were beautiful and well done.
It is a far far away place: The middle of nowhere. Heartbreaking actually, that this is a American Indian Reservation..."land" given...hmm.
But it was worth the effort to teach my pre-teen kids about "life", history, something they may never see again.
Be aware, be prepared... the toilets/facilities in general are horrible. There is nothing else around for miles.
Am I glad we did it. Yes.
