The concept of nice restaurant, combined with bowling alley, bar, semi-private bowling lanes, semi-private bar and dance area, dance area, general seating area, and games/arcade area is great to have in our neighborhood.
And, the neighborhood badly needed an entertainment venue...including dance venue...which Uptown Alley "tries" to be. But... there never seems to be people dancing in the semi-private DJ room (not sure people realize it is often not just private parties...). And, while sometimes the live bands in the main area are good (as was the case April 20th), the sound is set WAY TOO LOUD for the size of the area being served. For most people, it is like having a table right in front of the bank of speakers at a major concert in an arena... WAY TOO LOUD to even stay and enjoy.. But if the volume came down, the customer base should go up substantially.
Nothing terribly special about the food at the restaurant, but not bad either. It is the whole concept that is great...and hoping that tweaks can be made so that it continues to be viable and expands customer base long term.
