“A Great Concept...That Needs Some Tweaks to Actually BE Great...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2013

The concept of nice restaurant, combined with bowling alley, bar, semi-private bowling lanes, semi-private bar and dance area, dance area, general seating area, and games/arcade area is great to have in our neighborhood.

And, the neighborhood badly needed an entertainment venue...including dance venue...which Uptown Alley "tries" to be. But... there never seems to be people dancing in the semi-private DJ room (not sure people realize it is often not just private parties...). And, while sometimes the live bands in the main area are good (as was the case April 20th), the sound is set WAY TOO LOUD for the size of the area being served. For most people, it is like having a table right in front of the bank of speakers at a major concert in an arena... WAY TOO LOUD to even stay and enjoy.. But if the volume came down, the customer base should go up substantially.

Nothing terribly special about the food at the restaurant, but not bad either. It is the whole concept that is great...and hoping that tweaks can be made so that it continues to be viable and expands customer base long term.

“Poor family experience”

Avoid lane 9 if you have any young bowlers in your party who will want to use the bumpers. The lane has a sharp break to the right. Bumper bowlers will rarely knock down more the the 6 and 10 pins.

Also, if you are an adult who prefers to throw a ball weighing less than 14 pounds, you will have a hard time finding a ball with large enough finger holes.

“Great new place”

This is a much needed entertainment spot in this city. I hope every visitor to the city goes there at least once. It was a long-time-coming, and a beautiful facility.

“Bowling and lunch”

Such a nice, new establishment. The restaurant is really good and the bowling alley sure isn't like bowling alleys used to be! Very upscale

“Our Valentine Evening”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

The Uptown Alley facility is about 60,000 sq. feet of well layed-out fun for the whole family. You can have a private catered bowling party to team tournaments. It is well managed with bookings planned with all your needs in mind. It is very new & modern , also spotless in all areas.
Any areas of improvement I might mention would be finding the proper ball sizes, & because it was a little slow bussiness-wise that night, our attendant looking after us was caught up in conversation at times with not so busy attendants.
They also have a separate area where those who do not wish to bowl can play all the latest arcade games, which can soon rack-up a much higher cost than the bowling which is very reasonable. The food was great. There is also a bar for those who would like.
