I challenge you to find the one and only piece of plastic in the museum. And while you are at it, check out the wooden waka, fine crystal goblets, silver trophies, sackcloth aprons, and heaps of heavy metal. It is all polished and displayed so that the finest detail is within sight. Most poignant for me was the classroom of the late 1800s. Get a grip on history in this authentic, well cared for Settlers Museum situated in the former Bank of New Zealand building on the Main Street of Waipawa.
