Owner description: We're a small winery that's awesome! One of many great Sonoita-area wineries in Southern Arizona, our family farm is a fun, warm place for families and wine afficionados alike. Come in and enjoy our patio with a view, try the homemade sodas made by the kids, tell some stories, and explore the wonders of a winery that has free Cheetos.Say hi on our Facebook page (just search for AZ Hops and Vines)

The sisters who run this place provide anything but a traditional experience!! They make wine tasting fun, regardless of your knowledge, interest or enjoyment level for wine!! Wine tasting can sometimes seem like a snobbish thing but not for these ladies... rather than wine and cheese, try wine and cheetos! Thats right, they use things like cheese puffs and barbecue chips to compliment their wines. They also do a cocktail of the month where they mix several wines together (which have NO BUSINESS being mixed together) and tell everyone to just have fun with it. This month it is called "The Suicide!" "The Suicide" is a mix of six different wines including two whites, three reds and "The Fluffer," which has a very suggestive label which is exactly what you're wondering right now!

Hops & Vines also has extra-curricular events such as camp-outs, live bands and even occasionally have beers from relatively local breweries to try. Which brings me to the BEST part - they will be opening a brewery as well so then there will be beverages which ANYone can enjoy!

The ONLY reason I hesitate in giving a five rating is because this place is newer and very young so their current wines are imports as they need time to cultivate their own so it is hard to gauge how good their own wines will be although if the quality of their wine matches the personality of and the experience created by the owners, this will be a vineyard which connoisseurs will travel from far to visit.

Hey, thanks for coming by and trying THE SUICIDE. You're a brave soul. We've got a new wine coming out called Moxy and it'll debut at an event we're calling The Speakeasy on November 10th. If you can come by and try it (and wear a 1920's costume!), we'd love to hear what you think. Also, we just crushed the first crop of grapes grown right here at the winery, so our global domination is growing ever closer...

My sister kelly and I have always wanted to start a winery together this family-owned business inspires us. We love the friendly atmosphere and most importantly the wines were magical! Also me and my partner, Diana, love bringing our daughter here. She loves going to the Sober Shack, a to sip home-made soda. Even the adults will love to indulge in the awesome soda. But the bestest part of all was that Spot, my three legged dog, played with the slew of the fun farm animals! You"ll love this funtastic, fam-friendly, winery!

HEY! Okay so it took forever to respond to your AWESOME review (thanks!) but just wanted to say that we're so glad you came by and if you ever want to know anything about starting a winery with your sister, feel free to ask us (just head over to the website or our facebook page)! We love helping people out in this business because we certainly couldn't have done it without help either.

My wife and I were on vacation so we decided to try the wines of Arizona. In the area of Elgin/Sonoita we tried the various wineries and liked Arizona Hops and Vines the most. They offer a great mix of wines and a beautiful tasting room. The owners were both knowledgeable and friendly and were willing to teach us about the wines. The patio was comfortable and the views amazing. We ended up with a case of the "Fluffer" wine.
