Americas Best Value Inn - Snowflake
Ranked #1 of 2 Hotels in Snowflake
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We prefer to stay at Choice hotels. This was our first stay at Snowflake Comfort Inn.
This hotel looks brand new from the outside but wait until you check-in!! I complained to Choice Customer Service about this hotel!!! According to the General Manager the towels are a "beige/off white" color. They are so dingy looking i"m not sure if using clorox would make them look any better or not! Also,the toilet is so uneven I'm surprised one of us didn't slide off.
The shower knob was broke. When bringing these to the attention of the assistant manager her outlook was "I really don't care. What do you expect me to do about it."
It would be better to drive the two or three miles farther and stay at the Rodeway Inn in Taylor! Everyone there is VERY freindly and the rooms are really nice with NICE WHITE bath towels!!!

Room Tip: If you still want to stay here don't ask for room 207!!!

This hotel is very run down and dirty. When we arrived there was a note posted on a clip board stating that the hot tub was out of order and parts were on order. The kids tried to swm in the pool but it was too cold. I tried to use the workout room, but the machines had buttons covered up with paper, the remote had buttons missing so you couldn't turn the TV down & one machines seat was ripped. The floor of the room was dirty, there was hair in the bathroom on the floor, a stain by the toliet that didn't look like it had been cleaned. Finally when we went to eat the breakfast it was limited to cereal, one choice of chocolate donut holes, make your own waffle or hard boiled eggs. The fruit bowl was empty and dirty. We alerted them that it was empty and we were told that they didn't feel like going out and gettign any fruit that day. The wall by the waffle iron was damaged and paint was coming off.

My husband and I stayed overnight in Dec 2012. We arrived late in the evening, but had no problems with our reservation. The rooms are very standard, hallway on ground floor is showing a lot of wear and could use a thorough cleaning. The room was poorly kept. Mold on the shower curtain, the bathtub was dirty, the toilet had stains, dirty floors; not up to par for a hotel. Had we arrived earlier, I would have requested a different room. We would try one of the other hotels if we were in the area again.

First of all, the indoor spa temp was luke warm at best. After a long day of riding motorcycles we were looking forward to a good hot soak in the spa. That didn't happen. Not even bath water temp. We got to our room and sat down to watch some TV and someone in the next room or above decided to take a bath. We couldn't even hear the TV it was so loud in our room. The walls are paper thin. We could hear the TV in the next room. And the worst part was we paid up for a deluxe suite. Not here...

First and foremost, the hotel and room were clean enough and there weren't any funky smells. Staff seemed friendly enough, but no one went out of their way. "Free" Wi-Fi worked just fine. There was nothing that made the experience bad, but there was a bunch of little things that bothered me. I realize it's a Comfort Inn, but at the price I paid makes me feel justified in complaining about these little things (everything +taxes $230/night for one of their bigger rooms).

* no elevator to second floor (hauling bags for a family of 5 was tedious).
* strange brown/red splatter on ceiling
* sheets had stains on them
* bathroom exhaust fan broken
* beds were just barely comfortable enough, but not enough to get a great nights sleep.
* card key had problems with getting in room and pool
* swimming pool & hot tub plaster is in desperate need of repair
* small 1980's CRT Television

Pickings for places to stay in Snowflake are pretty slim and this may be one of the best options. Next time I will try to talk my wife into staying in Show Low which is about 20 minutes down the highway and has significantly more options.

Average about covers everything. Nothing bad, nothing exceptional. All and all an average midrange hotel for a reasonable price. Clerks were friendly and helpful. Overall, a good place to stay for weary travelers checking in and then heading down the road in the morning.

Room Tip: East end rooms are quieter but weaker Wifi signal. No refrigerator in room.

Had a LARGE group of family and friend in town for a funeral and probably booked over half the hotel for the weekend. When we asked the front desk if we could use the conference room for half and hour for the family to get together, the front desk staff seemed willing, but said they had to ask the manager, who said we could use it for $75. Seriouosly, the $86 dollars a night for a SO-SO hotel isn't enough for you? Which was another disappointment, the cost. Not worth it, but since there aren't many options, they can get away with it.
