“Very pleasant stay”
Reviewed February 10, 2014

I stay at the Girton Premier Inn for 2 nights with my sister. We were allocated a disabled room with twin beds which I asked them to arranged shortly after booking and as promised by them we got a disabled room . Very Large room which was spotless, comfy beds and all me needed so no complaints at all. Bathroom had a Wet room shower which was to die for, lots of hot water, I didn't want to get out lol. We took our own tea and milk, not sure their supply would have lasted but I understand one only has to ask at reception for more milk or teabags. We went for the 3 course Meal Deal and ate in the adjoining Beefeater on both nights also had our breakfast there .Food was excellent!! loved the breakfast, freshly cooked to order. Croissants were the best I've ever tasted ,waiter even went out of his way to warm them up for me on both mornings. Evening meals were most pleasant, this is a nice beefeater to eat in .Our food was of a good quality , being as it was from the Meal Deal menu ,we had no complains at all!!! . My 6oz steak was spot on and of a good quality. Service was quick , waiters/waitresses were all friendly and polite .They deserved their tips from us. All in all a great short stay for us, we also slept well. I would return here if in Cambridge again. Just to add we travelled to and from Cambridge by bus .Bus stop right out side hotel and just a short walk down the road. Buses number 5, 6, and A1/B1 run pass hotel ,we never had to wait long before one of them arrived.

We stayed here on a Saturday evening for a weekend away visiting Cambridge. For a PI this is unusual, but pleasant as there are only 21 rooms. The hotel has plenty of car parking and is an easy 20-25minute walk into the City, bringing you right into the Heritage part of the City.

We arrived early and our room wasn't ready, but didn't matter to us. We met three members of the reception staff during our stay and each and every one of them is a credit to Management. All so friendly and helpful.

The room we had was a typical PI room, clean and well sized. Bathroom towels were very disappointing, and could do with replacing. A large lcd TV is wall mounted with all the normal freeview options. The bed was extremely comfortable, I slept so well.

The hotel is not cheap, but then it's Cambridge priced. It sits on the bus route into Town but we found it easier to walk.

Our only real complaint will be levered against the Beefeater that was VERY disappointing. At check in we booked the dine and breakfast package for £22.99 each. I had already replied to a text booking a table for 7.30 which was acknowledged by the PI receptionist at check in. Upon entering the Beefeater at 7.30 we were told we hadn't booked for this time and were in for 7.45, go to the bar for a drink. I was actually starving at this time so was not happy to be either delayed or implied I was a liar. We eventually took our table at 7.45 but did not receive the starter until 8.30! Food itself was ok, but service very poor.
Breakfast the following morning was a bit of a mess also. Waits for juices, hot water and coffees. Full English breakfast I'm sure was cooked to order as it took so long, although I have to say was very tasty and worth the wait.

We stayed at the premier inn for one nite. We were greeted by a really friendly young lady who was really helpful she explained all about breakfast etc and showed us to our rooms, she even carried my bag upstairs. Paul (the manger) was also exceptionally helpful ordering taxis explaining bus routes etc. there were 15 of us staying and we all had an amazing time. The rooms were clean and the guy cleaning the rooms was lovely couldn't do enough to help. Overall an exceptional experience will def return !

Stayed here for new years Eve, hotel was lovely very clean, Staff at the reception desk were very polite and helpful with getting around Cambridge and looking for the shopping centres.
Rooms were very clean and a decent size for the value. Bed was very comfortable and even better with there pillows.
Great how it is connected to a beefeater we were able to book a last minute table food was fantastic.
Breakfast was lovely very well layed out, and a wide variety of milk and bread and cereals.
Would defiantly recommend staying here, When I return to Cambridge for more shopping I will defiantly stay here again.

Frequently stay at Premier Inn and am usually very satisfied but this one was a bit special.
Had the feel of a non budget hotel, and the staff were superb throughout.
Excellent restaurant on site.
Quality of room in both size and cleanliness was more than adequate.
Thoroughly recommended

This hotel is a 20 to 30 minute safe and pleasant walk into Cambridge City centre, or is on a main bus route if the walk is a little too much for you. There is plenty of adequate car parking at the hotel and our room was the usual Premier Inn good quality at an affordable price. The staff were the friendliest at any hotel I have ever stayed at and their welcome, help and interest in our stay appeared genuine. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel, but breakfast was excellent and we were served by genuinely friendly and helpful staff. If only all hotel staff were as welcoming as this. Facilities at the hotel are basic, but then this is a budget chain at a budget price and the hotel provided everything that is needed for a comfortable night's leisure or business stay. We would definitely use this hotel again the next time we visit Cambridge.
