“Great hiking area”

Grayton Beach State Park

To walk among the sand dunes is a good hike. The views and walk is fun and different than usual hikes. We spent the day there, with a packed lunch after the hike. A wonderful day trip.

Wherever you are staying near this area, it is a beautiful drive to get to Grayton Beach - the Beach road is so pretty with lots of condos and hotels, and restaurants, reminds you of yesteryear in Florida - not highly commercialized like a lot of the other places in the general area. Not nearly as congested as Destin, etc. Well worth a drive down to Hiway 30A and take in the sights. There are restaurants, mainly beach type shanty's where you can have lunch. And you can park and walk to the accessible beach areas. Absolutely beautiful and not so crowded. A nice afternoon drive.

Grayton Beach is managing to retain its "old Florida" charm despite the new builds. It is located along SR 30A with Grayton State Park next door. A paved bike path runs along 30A and connects the beach towns. We were there in the off season and I walked the beach in the cool mornings with not another person in sight for seemingly miles.

This is a beautiful park that enables you to get away from the masses on 30A. The bathhouse was immaculate and large. A wonderful place to walk on the beach and watch beautiful sunsets in the winter. Would highly recommend it during the low season. Not sure how it would be in the summer time. Gorgeous in January!

We visited Grayton Beach because a local person told us to go there. It was January, very few people, which we liked. It only cost $5 to drive in; and that was good for the whole day. The park had beautiful surrounding that was quiet and relaxing; nothing fancy. All of us enjoyed the relaxing tranquility of the beach. The little town of Santa Rosa Beach was a cute little town filled with quaint little shops and restaurants.
