We just stayed at the Hibiscus and found it to be very comfortable, quiet, and homey. We especially enjoyed the old Florida decor in the 'tropical bird room', the adjacent sitting room and kitchen, and the friendly staff. It was a great relief to find such a place and the nearby Grayton Beach State Park in the midst of this beautiful area which is being rapidly engulfed by sanitized, creeping yuppyism.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- We have three very different buildings on the grounds. Hibiscus House is home to the Café and our four original guest rooms: The Turner, Magnolia and Hibiscus rooms upstairs and the pet and kid friendly Art Deco downstairs. The Woodpecker Cottage is just across the courtyard. Bert’s Barn, built in 1904, has 5 guest rooms. Downstairs, we have the Big Easy, which is designed to accommodate our wheelchair-using patrons, the Funky Bird which is pet and kid friendly and the Old Florida. Upstairs, sharing a full kitchen are the Tropical Bird and Romance Rooms. Well situated to rent together, we offer a discount for when they are. Hibiscus Flats is where you'll find the office and our one bedroom luxury suites, Flats Two, Three and Four. Each has a full bedroom and comes with full kitchen, washer/dryer, large flat screen TV, private balcony, king-size bed and fold out sofa-bed. All 3 Flats are kid friendly and Flat Two is pet friendly. ... more less
