We decided to take our 3 small children on a weekend adventure and go somewhere we have not been yet, so we packed up the car and headed for Showlow over Labor day weekend. We originally booked at the Sleep in down the street, which was the nicest I could find, it was a dump, rooms were from the 80's and the place was filthy dirty, breakfast was gross and cold, but thats not odd in Showlow area, all the hotels are old dumps. My wife was pissed about hotel and wanted to go home early and not stay the second night. We prefer nice hotels and dont mind spending the money, but there just was not anything online, until we were driving to dinner and noticed the brand new Hampton Inn, looked like a ski lodge, we stopped and checked if they had any rooms for the next night and they did. We moved hotels and wow, this place was 1st class. We had a room that felt like a luxury hotel, on the 3rd floor overlooking the mountains behind the hotel. 32" LCD TV with HBO, great indoor pool and spa and hot breakfast while watching the news on a 55" plasma! We cant wait to go back. They eve had a gift shop with ice cream and snacks! The staff was really nice and the hotel smelled like new. We paid $109 which was dirt cheap for this nice of hotel. We paid $129 at the sleep in, what a joke. We now love Showlow and cant wait to go back to eat, rest and fish, but we would never stay anywhere else but the Hampton Inn. We call it our weekend home now, it was so much fun. If you cant stay at HI, dont bother going or stopping, you'll see what we mean when you drive by the other hotels. Some of them are staright out of a horror movie, no joke!

On a visit to St Johns Az we stayed at the Hampton Inn Show Low. I am happy to write the first review on TA...
Bearing in mind it is a brand new facility (opened June 30th), so it is very spotless and beautiful. We only stayed one night the rate was $107. for a 2 queen room. The exterior has a very rustic lodge look and huge parking lot and lush landscape. It sits away from the road so traffic noise is not and issue. The decor is rustic, tuscany style...lots of tile, granite, wood accents. Faux paint, browns, copper colors, very simple and modern. It had a Lodge feel and was very relaxing and comfortable.
Check in/out was very fast with friendly smiles everywhere.
THE ROOM:
Spotless and refreshing. Comfy beds with great down comforters/pillows/duvets and crisp white linnens. Nice furnishings. Textured thick carpets. Large mirror/closet door. All your ammenities, iron/board, WiFi/desk, large LCD TV, 2 clocks, wall unit heat/AC controls, fridge/micro, all in a nice size room. Lots of plush towels, tile/granite, curved shower curtian rod, great showerhead, coffeemaker, nice toiletries, hair dryer, hooks for hanging things and all in a good size bathroom...
Ammenities:
There is a really super fitness room...its big and full of mirrors!
there is scales, water, towels, wipes, TV, and the equipment consists of 2 treadmills, stepper, stationary bike, free weights/bench, 2 exercise balls, pads, pretty much all you need!
The pool/whirlpool are indoors (good idea)! and it is very nice as well, wonderful temps, big enough to do laps in the pool (5' deep)...the whirlpool is exactly that and the jets are strong...you better hold on or you will be going in circles! I was the only one in there and it was wonderful! Lots of decor and windows too.
The included breakfast area is so nice and relaxed. It is very large and has a great "Bristo" table for 6-8 people with plenty of tables around and a Big TV to watch all at one end and the food is on the other end of room...Ann was so welcoming and such a great hostess! She made sure everyone had what they needed.
There were hot/cold items, eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, fruits, juices, coffee/teas/hot chocolate. Cereal, 2% and skim milk. Pastries, muffins, white/wheat breads, bagels with all the condiments...newspapers to read and just a really nice homey
atmosphere.
We were very impressed...with smiles and a friendly hello from everyone it was a really nice stay and we will definately find time to travel to Show Low again soon....just to stay there.
Highly recommended. I love to travel and I love nice clean hotels! The newness was a plus!
If they keep up this standard H.Inn will be the nicest hotel in Show Low for years to come!
There is a NO PET policy...which is important to me as well...not that I don't like animals...I am very allergic to them...
Go and enjoy!
