We stayed at this motel on 8th sept 2012 for one night on our way to Las Vegas. We arrived there about 2pm,the room was ready. It was large and clean although the bathroom left a lot to be desired, the shower was broken and there were hairs all over the floor but being as we were leaving early the next morning we did not complain. It is about a 5 minute walk into the 'town' where there are some strange sights, typical Route 66.You can get some good photos here as everything is in a time warp from the 60s when no doubt this highway was very busy. There is one bar'The Black Cat' which is full of bikers and if you like bikes then this is the place to go. We had a meal at the Roadkill cafe which is next door to the Motel and you do need a big appetite. I had ribs and they must of been two foot long! My wife had Shrimp and she got a plateful . You will not leave here hungry, prices are reasonable too. There is another cafe across the road but these are the only two in town. If you are passing that way and you need to stop for a night then yes I would recommend staying here but one night is enough. All in all a typical American motel.

the room was large, clean and comfortable and reminded of my bedroom as a child with cross stitch pictures of teddy bears. the bed was very comfortable and an overall pleasant experience. the road kill cafe next door offered discounts if you showed your room key and the food there was excellent.

I have stayed there twice and both times, was very satisfied with the accomadations. Room is old but well kept, clean and neat. WIFI was good. Overall a very pleasant experience. With your room key you get a discount at the Road Kill Cafe. Was very satisfied.

A wonderful old neon'd motorcourt, BIG room, only frill is a coffee-maker and coffee but this place is so sweet, and safe, especially for a woman travelling alone. I was in room 1 which was decorated very home-ily with teddy bear art on the walls (not enough to be cloying or insane), which gave the message that this is a place the owners love and want to make it a home for travellers. You are walking distance from the funky eccentric town strip, and right next door to the Roadkill Cafe and across the street from West Side Lilo's for dinner and breakfast: try both and take your pick between the two. It's directly across from the Post Office, which has the Santa Fe RR running behind it, but I was never bothered by train noise. It is comfortable and safe and sweet and for under $50, exactly what you need to feel the continuity of the history of the great Mother Road.
