“Beautiful View, Great Location”
Reviewed April 20, 2008

We stayed in the hotel portion of the Best Western Arroyo Roble for 3 nights in mid-April and were pleased with the hotel. We had access to the timeshare facilities, which included the use of 2 computers with free internet, another outside & inside pool, a gym, and pool tables.

We paid a little extra to get a room off the back with a view of the red rocks and it's worth it. The rocks are amazing and otherwise, you get a view of the street out the front.

The free breakfast provided included several choices, like waffles, scrambled eggs, cereals, and pastries. We never had an issue with parking at the hotel and the location of the hotel/resort is great- within walking distance of several restaurants and tourist-y shops and just 2 hours south of the Grand Canyon. Also, if you’re interested in going on a Pink Jeep Tour, you can get a 10% off coupon at the front desk.

Just got back from the BW Arroyo. The location is right in uptown and walking distance to restaurants and shopping. We really loved that as we didn't have to drive in the evening to get out. The hotel was very clean and upkept. Rooms were a good size and quiet. Lovely pool and extras at the Villa timeshares that are a part of the complex were available for hotel guests.
The only downside (small yet it bothered us), was the hotel front desk staff. They were very unhelpful and seemed bothered that we interrupted them with check-in and check-out. The desk person at the Villas in the complex however was very helpful and we actually went to her with questions.
This minor issue shouldn't stop you from staying at the BW, as it is a clean, comfortable stay in a great location.

This is a very nice place to stay in Sedona - the nicest Best Western I've booked. The place is huge; we stayed in the hotel, but it looked like there were condo-type accomodations on the property as well. Our room was very nice; furnishings were new or near new, everything was very clean, beds were comfortable and I think every room has a view of the red rocks. The staff was pleasant and efficient: we arrived about 11am and they said our room probably wouldn't be ready until 2pm or so. They seemed to understand that we wanted to get situated and put a rush on housekeeping - had us in our room by noon. Sedona is a very special place - it's kind of like a city inside the grand canyon. We are pretty sure that the "big red rock eaters" (of What's big and red and eats rocks? fame) are native to Sedona. No restaurant on the property, but our accomodations included a very adequate continental breakfast. We had a fabulous dinner about 500 yards down the main drag at The Gallery (see my restaurant review). I do think Sedona is on its way to being over commercialized though. Too bad - it's a beautiful place.

  • Liked — Location, staff, comfort of room
  • Disliked — Small bathroom, had to use computer in "club house" to print boarding passes - inconvenient

We weren't totally in love with Sedona, but the Best Western was a great place to stay at a very reasonable price. The view from our room was remarkable. Staff was very friendly and cordial. Don't miss the free breakfast - much more than your standard continental fare. NOTE - you'll have to park way down the hill so drop your bags off at the reception area first. Hotel is smack dab in the middle of the main Sedona shopping district so you'll be able to walk anywhere.

We were thrilled with the red rock views from our patio, we were in a first floor suite with a very large bathroom with jacuzzi. Spring for the money for the suite, it was in a setting apart from the main hotel. The breakfast here was fair and the indoor pool was very small in the clubhouse, but if you are as lucky with your weather, you will be able to enjoy the picturesque outdoor pool. We loved the fact that you could walk to the shops, restaurants and pink jeep tours from the hotel. Great location with beautiful views!

Wonderful location. Walk to shopping, restaurants, Pink Jeep tour start. Ask for the rock side view 4th floor or above for a fabulous view. Linger at sunset to see the colors change on the rocks. Comfy beds and pillows. Breakfast was good. The fitness center is quite a walk downhill away.

Probably the best deal in Sedona. Finally, a hotel designed to take advantage of the surroundings. All the rooms face the mountains and face away from the road, making the hotel surprisingly quiet. The staff is attentive and helpful on almost all topics of interest, going the extra mile even when they don't have to do so. The included breakfast is a good deal in that it saves time in the morning, allowing you to get to more interesting activities more rapidly. The breakfast isn't particularly special- scrambled eggs, fresh waffles, various toasts, fruit and cereal, etc. But its hot, it's fresh, it's included, and it's fast. Very comfortable beds. Small bathrooms, but if that's where you spend your time in Sedona, you're missing the point. Good AAA rates, all things considered. 5th floor rooms are kings, first floor rooms tend to be larger than the others, at least as far as we could tell. The first floor rooms overlook a beautiful patio with a fountain. Overall, a surprisingly pleasant experience right in the heart of Sedona.
