“Wonderful breakfast buffet provided by hotel.”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

We chose the Best Western Plus Arroyo Roble Hotel as the selling feature was not only the beautiful views of the red rocks from the 5th floor balcony, but the free breakfast! It was wonderful to not have to think about where to go for breakfast for the ten days we stayed there. The buffet was more than we could imagine, a nice variety to choose from (cereal, make your own waffles or toast, fresh fruit, yogurt) and everyday the eggs would change from scrambled, to eggs florentine and they even had biscuits and gravy (which were delicious). You can either sit inside or out on the patio and take in the views. A special thanks to Gil and Ricardo who were so friendly and courteous. I cannot wait to return!

Room Tip: I would recommend the 5th floor poolside which has a great view of the red rocks.

My friend and i were planning a few days in Sedona. She recommended this hotel - because she heard it was a good "walk to everywhere" location. She was right on! It is located in "uptown" - an area of shops and restaurants. Right across the street was one of our favorite shopping stops - an Indian trading post with room after room of goodies at great prices! We actually went back twice! The Best Western Plus is staffed with friendly, helpful people. We asked for - and got - the name and number of a taxi service that we used twice so we would be able to enjoy happy hour and dinner without worrying about driving back.
The room was spotless - with a balcony that overlooked some of the red rocks - including Snoopy! Beds were comfy...shower nice and hot. And the free breakfast that comes with the room was very good. Somewhat limited selection - but enough to fill you up.
Free wireless was good - and no password required which made connecting quick and easy.
We walked down to Oak Creek our last day there and discovered a peaceful, serene setting we wish we had more time to enjoy.
Bottom line - this hotel is a four star winner in my book!

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view of the red rocks

We stayed in this hotel one night. Had hoped to stay longer as reviews were so good. We had a king room on the fifth floor facing the cliffs. The view was beautiful. The overall feel if the place was definitely motel not hotel. However, the design of the room was odd. The bathroom right by the door and tiny. The balcony was nice but the room had a very strong unpleasant odor. We could never determine what it was. Fortunately we could leave the door to the balcony open all night which helped. Because of this we checked out next morning and found a very nice bed and breakfast for the rest of our stay.

For our last two visits to Sedona we stayed at the Hyatt Pinon Pointe. We’d been delighted with the Hyatt and we initially looked at booking this again. However we noticed that they’d introduced a rather sneaky “resort fee” which wasn’t evident in the quoted room rate – just in the small print. This is a pretty dubious non-optional charge for some of the basic amenities such as parking, swimming pool, wifi etc. We took exception to this as we’d have expected any self-respecting better class hotel to provide these for their guests as part of the room rate in this day & age.
So we looked for an alternative and settled on the BW Arroyo Roble. No such silly additional charges here. All the above amenities and much more were included. We had a superb room in the north building with fabulous red rock views. We were both agreed that overall we both liked this much more than the Hyatt. So we now have a new favourite first choice for future stays in Sedona – the BW Arroyo Roble.

Room Tip: Recommend North block 2nd floor rooms.

The three of us enjoyed the delightful breakfast every morning. GILBERT and staff made us feel at home. The service and eats were outstanding.

The front desk folks were especially accomodating. Thanks Anna; Jenny and the rest of the staff. You all helped to make our stay enjoyable.

We have stayed in Best Westerns all across the country and this one takes the prize. We were astonished by the 180 degree view of the sunset over red rocks from our balcony. The grounds are resort quality with fountains and planters throughout the landscape. The pinnacle experience was swimming in the outdoor pool (one of the best ever) while looking out on the view of the red rocks. Hotel staff were very friendly, and this hotel accepts pets. Excellent location at the north end of Sedona, the row of shops and restaurants begins just next door. Overall one of the absolute best Best Westerns ever. My wife and I kept saying to each other that we felt like we were at a high end resort, but without the high end attitude or price. Highly recommend this one!

You must get a room with the view. It is a breathtaking experience that words can't describe.
Hotel location is prime if you want to explore by foot the Uptown shops and tours. I travelled for business and I enjoyed the drive through Route 179 from this location. Highly recommend for the excellent customer service.
