It is impossible to overhype the beauty of Sedona's red rocks and the amazing Oak Creek Canyon area, and the Best Western Arroyo Roble is in a prime location to take in all of it. Our balcony on the fifth floor of the main hotel building had a great view of many red-rock formations, including the beagle-shaped Snoopy Rock.
The location is perfect for walking around Uptown Sedona, though you could see it all in a couple of hours (though I was pleasantly surprised at the complete lack of chain restaurants and stores).
There were only minor problems with the room. Ours smelled like a nursing home, for some reason, and the door to the balcony was off its rails and very difficult to open. The decor was a bit tired as well. On the plus side, the king-sized bed rivaled the best hotel beds I've slept in.
The front-desk clerks were way beyond helpful, and the lobby is cozy and pleasant. The hillside location of the hotel may be inconvenient due to all the stairs and inclines, but I liked its charm. The free breakfast is also a plus; it includes waffles, oatmeal, eggs, sausage and more.
If you're coming to Sedona from the south, be sure to continue north on Route 89A toward Flagstaff - the drive is a lot of fun!More
