We traded into this resort. Got a great deal, so didn't spend much time checking it out in advance. After we made the reservation, I started looking at reviews on RCI. They were awful. People talked about unhelpful staff, overpriced restaurant, unkempt grounds, etc. We started to get a little nervous, but then figured, "What the heck, it's Sedona!"

We pulled up to the resort and were immediately pleased with the outward appearance. Check-in was a breeze with none of the usual time share pressure to attend a presentation. Then we were off to our room. The room was spacious for a one bedroom. Was it dated? Yes. Was it clean? Also yes. Was there a 60" digital smart TV hanging on the wall in the living room? Yes. Another in the bedroom? Yes. Did it have a Blue-ray/DVD Combo player? Yes. So much for the 19" TVs we'd read about in advance. Since it was late when we arrived, we decided to visit the on-site restaurant. We sat at the bar and were served by a delightful person named Deb, who informed us it was Happy Hour and provided a Happy Hour menu. Since we checked in on Sunday, the multitude of TVs were turned to football. So far, so good. The wine was good, the food was good, and the staff company was good. So much for the Medusas we'd read about prior to our arrival. After a pleasant evening, we vowed to return.

The next morning we got up and decided to use the exercise facility. We stay in Sedona frequently and most places we have stayed had small to no workout facilities. This place was quite large and included 15 + pieces of cardio equipment (treadmills, elliptical, etc.), a complete cycle of weight machines, and free weights. Upon checking in we were provided with a free locker and key. The locker rooms included showers, saunas, and steam rooms. We used the facility three times during our stay and were never disappointed. The Spa also offers classes in Yoga, Pilates and much more.

That evening we returned to the on-site restaurant and Deb was there. She recognized us from the previous evening and asked if we would like the same wine (Happy Hour again). Then she suggested one of their pizzas. We ordered that and a house salad. Once again--good service, good food, reasonable price. Deb told us she would not be there for the rest of our stay. We thought, "Oh no, they're letting Medusa out."

Location. This place is easy walking distance to Tlaquepaque--one of the premier shopping areas in Sedona. It's also walking distance to Garlands, Hillside, and Uptown Sedona. I'm not sure there is a better located resort in the area. It's also a short drive to hiking, horseback riding, and wine tasting. Jerome and Cottonwood are a short drive. Several Indian Ruins are nearby--Montezuma's Castle, Montezuma's Well, and Tuzigoot. Flagstaff is straight North on 89A through Oak Creek Canyon.

We took one last trip to the restaurant and met Tami. I guess Medusa was still locked up because she was a pleasure. Once again it was Happy Hour! Another nice meal at a reasonable price.

In closing, I don't know where all these naysayers were staying, but it sure wasn't here. Comfortable, clean, well-located, pleasant staff, nice restaurant, good food for a reasonable price, very nice exercise facility, and great location. What more could you ask for. Is it brand new? No. But they do have remodeling plans and I think this resort is going to be a great place to stay for a long time.

What a beautiful place to stay amid the red rocks of Sedona. Kitchens for some meals, heated saltwater pool, great staff... You can walk around the grounds by Oak Creek or spend time in the spa or fitness center, explore the town, find your center in a vortex - so many possibilities!

Great location, especially for the value. Walking distance to town. Very friendly staff. We stayed in a 1 bedroom unit. It was equipped with a cute kitchen, and decent size living room and bedroom. The only problem was the heater making a really loud noise every time it would shut off and on. I should've called maintenance, but it was late and we were only staying for one night. Our overall experience was very positive. We would definitely return.

Let me start by saying the grounds around the resort are beautiful. We exchanged a week through our timeshare to stay here and were extremely disappointed with the quality of the room. Our room was very old and rundown, the furniture was outdated and the pull out sofa was paper thin. Our room was supposed to sleep 6 people but it was extremely small and there is NO way 6 adults could share their one bedroom. I know diamond inter national just purchased the property but they really just need to close it down and upgrade the whole resort and not just a small section of rooms. We will never stay with diamond again.

Room Tip: Before you reserve a room make sure you are in the upgraded section!!!

The location is perfect, right in the heart of town, it is set back off the road and quiet. The Tlaquepaque center is part of the complex. It is full of galleries, restaurants, and shops. You can also hop on for a jeep tour or rent a pink jeep. This resort has a full-service spa, outdoor tennis and basketball courts, an outdoor salt water pool, a very large Jacuzzi, playground for kids and complimentary laundry facilities for guests. We made good complementary use of most of these equipments.
It’s worth knowing that this is, as others have mentioned, a Diamond Resorts time-share facility. You will likely be offered, more than once, the opportunity to become an "owner". We found this a bit annoying even if they don’t insist.
The stay here depends on which room you get. We were cramped up in a one room well equipped (no kitchen) but aging small cottage. The bed was comfortable and the linen clean. However the room furniture was VERY uncomfortable. Since the resort is a time-share facility no housekeeping was provided during our five day stay. None the less they charge $15 a day as a resort fee. Soundproofing between the adjoining cottage needs much improvement. We had private use of a small area behind the cottage, equipped with a small table and chairs, where we were able to relax and had snacks. Considering it all we had a very pleasant stay, hiking around Sedona for part of the day and relaxing and dining on the resort for the other part. However Diamond Resorts still has a good hike before they can earn their fourth star.

Room Tip: Stay away from the two cottages.
