Second time users of Los Abrigados. We go mainly because of it's location, not for the rooms, see later. Check in was friendly and efficient. Apartment was ready this time before 03.00 so no going to bar early this time. Big gripe though, this 'service' charge? Internet access - sketchy at best. Pool - only kids pool so busy. use of gym, free laundry (good freebie) and other small things. Why? It seems just another extra charge for things that used to be free. What happens if you are not a internet user or don't swim? Discount? Don't think so. The usual go see the 'Concierge' before leaving for your apartment for your discounts etc. We are used to these tactics, being time share owners, so not really much of a problem. Got a VIP card though, which was handy. Again, we were put near that air conditioning unit but not too near to annoy us this time. Watch out though, if given apartment 164 refuse as it sits right next door to it. We were given parking bay this time which was a pleasant surprise. Apartment suite spacious, clean but dated. Flat screen tv's don't make furniture new, and using old tv unit for storage is a bit cheap. No pool towels in apartment so had to phone for them. Small problem but fairly quickly delivered. Pool renovations were only minor problem for us but see that it could be major for some who were looking directly over the works. Outside areas seem to have been spruced up and looking good. Stakes and Sticks - restaurant and bar on site - restaurant used once to check if same chef/food as steaks last time were to die for. Unfortunately they weren't, good but not great. We think chef gone to Oak Creek Brewery? Staff good in restaurant but better in bar area. Prices reasonable for both food and drink. Check out easy and overall would use again as easy walk up hill to uptown Sedona, next door to Telaquepaque and a couple of restaurants over the Creek.

Room Tip: Don't accept rooms 164 or 264 or near air condition unit.

Los Abrigados Resort and Spa is in the perfect location. Its close proximity to a wonderful shopping center as well as downtown Sedona is fabulous. The resort itself is undergoing some improvements so the main pool was closed for renovation; however there is still a pool available. The unit was on the second floor which afforded a beautiful view of the famous Sedona red rocks.
The concierge did not seem to know very much about the area and was mainly interested in encouraging guests to listen to a timeshare presentation, but otherwise, the staff was friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a second floor room which faces the red rocks.

I read reviews before hand and knew what to ask for. We got unit # 280 Bld U A corner unit on 2nd floor overlooking pool and a wonderful view of some of Sedonas famous red rocks.
We met Randy the Undercover Boss head maintence man. Told him we loved the show. I teased him & said I want your autograph & later that evening Kris from the front desk sent a book of Sedona to our room signed by Randy.
Crystall from conceriege was extremely helpful, giving us discounts for restraunts.
The weather was a little cool-we had just left Mesa from a week of 90's and that week in Sedona was 70's.
One night they showed a movie in a small theater-Lincoln. It was raining when movie ended and the fellow(can't remeber his name ) had umbrellas for us to get back to our rooms. A very nice touch.
The day before we were leaving we met a couple that was just checking in to the Stone House. They offered to show it to us. OMG If anyone wants something over the top get this. It is amazing.
We have been to Sedona before so other than visiting my brother & his caregiver in Cottonwood a few times-a little shopping & eating out we just relaxed.
There is so much to see & do in Sedona. It should be on everyones bucket list.
The only complaint I have was the kitchen seemed dark-It was just in a hallway. There were plenty of things to use and it was well supplied but maybe sky lights might help.

Room Tip: /ask for a room in the back on 2nd floor corner unit. We were very lucky to get such a nice view of the red rocks

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and review of your stay here at Los Abrigados. We were very delighted to read that our accommodations, activities, and customer service exceeded your expectations. Our staff takes great pride in offering exceptional customer service towards our guests. Randy is quite the celebrity here since his appearance on Undercover Boss with our Chairman, Stephen J. Cloobeck. We definitely recommend The Stone House for those who are looking at deluxe or additionally luxurious accommodations here at Los Abrigados. Your feedback about the lighting in the kitchen area is much appreciated. We will definitely look into this to see if we can improve this for future guests. Your recommendation is greatly appreciated. We hope to see you again soon the next time your travels take you to the Sedona area.

Bought a resort stay voucher, so the value was amazing for a full week! Did select a second floor room and you must carry your suitcases and kitchen supplies up the stairs - no elevator. Was in the S building next to the children's pool and our room was relatively quiet. The kitchen is well stocked with great appliances and a small full size fridge. Flat screen TVs in living room and bedroom and I liked the two room setup with the open kitchen. Large bathroom vanity is outside the room with the toilet and shower. Our DVD player wasn't working and upon calling the front desk - maintenance was in our room within 5 minutes to sucessfully fix it. Front desk called 10 minutes later to be sure all was to our satisfaction! So nice. We had a great time, and if you like a sunny balcony - ask for one at check-in. They do have some that are always shaded... We would definitely stay here again.

OVERVIEW We spent 9 days here: one week on an exchange and two extra days. I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, however I was very pleased with our experience. We had a second floor one bedroom unit with partial kitchen on the end of the building. It was very well equipped and clean with some updated furniture. The balcony fronted a nice little courtyard with a quiet fountain. The unit was large enough for the two of us: a king bed in the bedroom. There is a pull-out sofa bed in the living room area. It would most likely be OK if you had small children, but I would not have 4 adults in the unit. If you're traveling with two couples or teenage children, this might be a bit cramped.

KITCHEN For those who expect to cook, note that this is a PARTIAL kitchen which means you will have a smaller fridge, a microwave, coffee maker, a half-size dishwasher, a very nice toaster oven and a two-burner cook top. There are all the pots/pans/utensils you could want. My husband and I both cook and found this to meet our needs - granted you can't make an elaborate meal or cook a roast, but we're on vacation and don't plan to cook 3 meals a day.

ATMOSPHERE The grounds of the resort are absolutely fabulous and in keeping with the design of the nearby Tlaquepaque shopping area. You can walk to this area, the Oak Creek, and many nearby shops and restaurants. The location is superior, and the old world charm is wonderful. If you are used to walking a mile or more easily, then you can walk to the Uptown area or the Hillside Sedona complex.

SERVICE Everyone was friendly, efficient and knowledgable. Check-in was a breeze and the staff helped us to choose the right unit for us. I had read all the reviews and knew a little bit about what to ask. We were assigned a perfect unit for us: quiet, convenient, comfortable. Also, we enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to spend our two extra vacation days at the resort rather than moving on as first planned. Unfortunately the resort won't book extra days directly, but we were advised to book through an online third party site. We booked through priceline, however, we had issues with priceline who refused to help us in any way. I contacted the resort staff and THEY called priceline and handled all details. The result was we were able to stay the extra two days in our same unit at a reasonable price with no extra effort needed on our part. And we had another cleaning before the extra two days. All staff at the front desk are WONDERFUL and very accommodating.

SPA/FITNESS/POOL/ACTIVITIES The main pool was closed and it looked as if work had stopped on it. That was OK with us as there was no construction noise. The kids pool was nice, but it was rather noisy and would not be conducive to actually swimming laps. The spa was very nice with jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room in each well stocked locker room. There was a great fitness center with machines, weights and a studio. The classes provided a variety of styles from strength/toning to yoga to pilates to Tai Chi. You could also use the studio for your own workout or practice when classes were not in session - mats and equipment are available. We did not try the spa services (massage, mani/pedi, etc.) so cannot speak to those. We felt the resort fee was reasonable and we got our money's worth.

DON'T MISS the chairs in the sculpture garden. They looked intimidating but turned out to be some of the most comfortable chairs we've tried.

OTHER Other reviewers noted issues with housekeeping and not having items, etc. Note that you will receive a midweek "tidy" which involves bathroom cleaning, towel exchange, and general sweep up. We noted that the cleaning crew comes through, and then afterward staff comes through to stock the needed towels - there may be an hour or so between the two services. If you get back to your unit after cleaning and before stocking, then you'll think you didn't get your towels, etc. - just wait a bit and they will arrive.

Room Tip: Choose a second floor unit, and note that there are no elevators - you must be able to carry your suitcases up a flight of stairs. Choose one in a building away from the pool.
