“Phenomenal!”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

Stop looking, this is where you need to stay if you're visiting Sedona! The resort located right in the middle of Boynton Canyon, with spectacular views of the Red Rocks all around you. Decor is fabulous throughout, rooms were recently updated and ours (a junior suite) was beautiful. Resort has a very quiet, peaceful feel.

The concierge emailed me a few weeks before our trip to ask us if we needed anything, which I thought was great. Resort is gated, and when you arrive for first time, they take your name, then they let the lobby desk know that you have arrived. You are checked in, and then they give you a personal tour. Here are a few of the amenities:

--free bicycle and helmut rentals (they have you place the helmets in a different bin after you use them so they can be cleaned!)
--gorgeous tennis courts and raquet loaners (although bring your own raquet as theirs needed to be re-strung)
--golf, although we didn't play, so don't know much about that
--turndown service at night, which includes all fresh towels, bottled waters, robes on the bed, and they leave the tv station tuned to soothing Native American music
--complimentary orange juice in the morning
--friendly staff; always ask if you need a ride when they pass you in their golf carts
--GOREGOUS spa and work out facility
--deer roaming the property, which my kids loved
--apples and oranges in the lobby areas
--coffee, tea and hot cocoa in the lobby in the morning
--pool view is amazing, couldn't believe my kids were swimming while I'm in the middle of a canyon staring at the Red Rocks in front of me
--decor throughout is beautiful, really well done
--quiet and peaceful, romantic yet still good for kids and families
--restaurants on resort delicious

Perfect experience for the 3 nights we stayed. We didn't want to leave!

A beautiful property in the canyons of Sedona. A 15 minute drive to downtown. Very peaceful and quiet. We had a 2 bedroom casita which had a murphy bed in the living room and 3 bathrooms and kitchen. It was outstanding. The patio had a grill , which you could cook on. The huge pool had a beautiful view of the red rocks. The staff was very helpful. We stayed only one night, which we could have stayed more. Hopefully, we will be back.

Traversed on a beautiful scenic road to arrive at this gem. Right in the midst of the lovely landscape. Arrived & checked in with no problem. Service was top notched. Golf cart to your room, with warm blankets for cold nights. Room impeccable, view amazing, bathroom is awesome. Was so busy did not have time to enjoy all of the amenities. Had chance to hike their little trail to the hill top - awesome! Saw deer on compound. It was just lovely.

The town of Sedona is magical with its red rock landscape, but the Enchantment Resort has it all. The scenery where it is located could not be more picturesque. Just swimming in the pool has a fantastic view. The casita we stayed in was more than comfortable for six people. We had two bedrooms, a living room, three full bathrooms and a eat-in kitchenette. Wonderful accommodations. Food, spa, and drinks are a little pricey so this family used our kitchenette for breakfast. Skip the vortex experiences unless you are interested in a hike. I didn't feel any vibrations but the colors I saw were other-worldy--thought I would get more history and info from a private guide. Maybe the Pink Jeep tour would have been better. Highly recommend the hotel. You don't really have to leave it to get the full Sedona experience with fabulous accommodations.

I decided to drive up from Scottsdale for a few days at enchantment and had no idea how beautiful the Sedona red rock was. The resort itself was breathtaking, a great reception to relax you and a walk to the cabin where we would stay. I loved breakfast the most, sitting outside overlooking the red rock was great. The resort has many amazing excursions available from the front desk

We almost missed this resort because it wasn't rated any higher on TripAdvisor. I am very glad we found it. We had a fantastic 3 night stay in July 2014.

I will echo all the positive statements in the other reviews about the Enchantment.

Our kids took part in two activities - the Watercolor class and the Stargazing. Both were led by great instructors who were very passionate and tried hard to make sure everyone was engaged. The kids (ages 9 to 13) loved both. It is hard to describe how appreciative we are for those experiences. We also booked a one day Grand Canyon adventure which worked out well. I will review it separately.

I have read some of the complaints about this resort. I felt like addressing a few of them in case it puts other travelers at ease:

- Every staff encounter we had was positive. Most were overly helpful. Kyle the bellman who checked us in was awesome. He has a future in the industry.
- Room service was fast and accurate. The kids menu was extensive, but there wasn't much of a selection for adults.
- Orange juice arrived every day. We could have bathed in it by the time we left.
- The outdoor lobby was unique and convenient, and there were two cold drinks to choose from.
- I can't imagine a room not having a great view, as the Red Rocks pretty much surround the resort entirely.
- Getting back to 89a, the main route in Sedona, takes about 10 minutes.
- Late July seems to be a great time to visit if you want to avoid the crowds. The main pool was about 20% full on a Sunday.
- I considered not having cell service a positive. The wifi was strong and consistent, and if you have an iPhone you can still iMessage, which allowed us to stay in touch with each other on the property.
- The concierge gave us some great suggestions for local sightseeing and hiking.
- It would be nice to see available activities before arriving, because many of them are booked up by time you get there. I suppose this is possible I just didn't attempt it.

Overall, we had a great time at Enchanment, and would really like to return one day soon.

Room Tip: There are 2 rooms with private pools, but they seem to book up far in advance.
