Stayed here once last summer, nice rooms, great setting, good service but one problem I noticed after dark by the pool...a certain species of insect crawling all over the pool area. I trust management will rectify this issue.

We chose to go to Enchantment for our honeymoon. Set amongst the red rocks of Sedona, AZ, this is a very nice, relaxing resort that caters to families and couples looking to "get away from it all."

Enchantment features several (delicious) restaurants, common areas, pools, tennis courts, spa and a very helpful concierge service to help you find plenty to do during your stay in Sedona. We used the concierge quite a bit as we had never been to the area before. There are many red rock hiking trails near Enchantment. A few of these are located right beside their grounds. Many tour companies in Sedona will also pick you up and drop you off at Enchantment.

The rooms are more like "guest houses" with varying levels of rooms and features. Ours was the "casita" and had a small deck with BBQ grill, mini-kitchen/dining area with microwave, burners; Murphy bed (the kind you pull down from a closet, but still was comfortable), fireplace, flat-screen TV, couch and chairs, wireless Internet, and a Bose Wave Radio. The bathroom was large and very nice. Guest services came by nightly to pull down the Murphy bed. The only minor issues with our room were the pilot light on the fireplace would not stay lit and the sliding glass door had a bad latch. The refrigerator in our room was small, so keep that in mind if you go to Sedona to buy groceries or bring back leftovers. Other rooms have full-size refrigerators.

Tips for visiting Enchantment:
If you have AT&T mobile phones, they won't work at Enchantment. Verizon barely works. As of April 2011 there was no AT&T service there. Yes, you're on vacation and shouldn't be talking on your phone anyway, but Enchantment is a big place, so being able to call your husband/wife/family member would be helpful. This was my only problem with Enchantment. I couldn't locate my wife after getting back from a hike. I called around the different locations at Enchantment, but nobody could locate her. She was actually in the spa, but the first two people I talked to there were too lazy to leave their counter to go look for her. A micro-cell service there would be great.

Car: you'll definitely need a car to get to Enchantment and go to Sedona, etc. The parking at Enchantment is along all the guest houses and the spaces fill up quickly. You may have to walk a bit to get to your room. The staff, though, is friendly and will gladly give you a golf cart ride to your room. When walking, watch out for those golf carts, however. Some of them take it kind of fast.

Dining: There are a few dining options at Enchantment. They are very good. The high-end restaurant is expensive, but worth it. The food was delicious. You'll need to dress nice for it. Definitely try the dining options there, but remember there are a lot of great places in Sedona, also.

Hope all this helps. There's a lot more to Enchantment that I didn't cover and we will likely go back one day.

Room Tip: The guest houses are staggered in a way that they don't block too much of the view. If you'r...

Driving through Sedona was a total let down...cheesy, kitchy, touristy...not the spiritual, beautiful place I had envisioned. Thank goodness as we followed our directions we drove in one side of Sedona proper and right out the other side. A few minutes later we entered a dramatic canyon and we were enchanted with Enchantment. Our room was lovely, kitchenette, fireplace, patio with a grill and most important an amazing view of those red rocks. Plenty of trails right on the grounds, brunch buffet was nice and the spa was great. Yoga class in the middle of a thunder storm was v cool. We cooked most of our simple dinners in our room...too tired from hiking and spa treatments to dress for dinner. I would go back again and think the seclusion is perfect!

Incredible setting, beautiful rooms, fabulous spa, wonderful staff. My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in December and it was so very relaxing that we did not want to leave. We took advantage of the included spa activities (guided hike, yoga class, cooking demo, meditation) but did not get any services (massage, etc.); we kept ourselves busy doing solo hikes and just relaxing in this breath- taking setting. There is something very special about this area and I highly recommend this spot in particular- I cannot say enough good things.

We've stayed at Enchantment several times in the past and were looking forward to seeing the renovated rooms. At first blush, all seemed good. Then the very loud droning sound started. Turns out the AC/heating systems were replaced and they are extremely loud. Worse yet, we were also affected by our neighbors use of their system. Not conducive to a relaxing time. We love the tranquility and beauty of Boynton Canyon, but what's the point of being there if you have to tolerate this kind of noise. This needs to be addressed before we'd consider staying there again. Also, if you are placed near the clubhouse that's currently being renovated, be prepared for some major construction noise. In terms of the temporary area for the Yavapai restaurant, it's okay. Food was decent overall. Mii Amo's spa cafe is another dining option, but if you eat there, be prepared to leave a bit hungry and out some major dollars. We didn't use the spa facilities on this trip but noticed the higher prices for all services. Minimum charge for all services except a makeup consult is $150. Same goes for the activities that are not covered by the resort fee. Way too pricey.

Room Tip: Discuss your needs when making a reservation. Also ask about the breakfast package to possibly save...

On behalf of Enchantment Resort, thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. We regret your stay was less than exceptional as we are committed to providing our guests with the highest quality experience.

As you are aware, Enchantment is in the process of renovating our Club House and restaurants which are scheduled to be completed mid-March. We have every desire to continually improve upon our cuisine, amenities and services at the resort. Our new club house renovations include a new signature restaurant with inside and outside seating, a redesigned Tii Gavo restaurant & bar, and a new larger pool complex.

We appreciate your business and realize you have a choice when booking.

Thank you.

This is not my first stay at the lovely Enchantment resort but my fist review. Enchantment is nothing short of stellar! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The grounds are pristine and blend perfectly with the surrounding nature. We stayed over New Year’s Eve and received an amenity of engraved champagne flutes with chocolate box truffles. This was top notch and very classy, bravo! My wife and I got engaged there years ago and will always sing our praises about this Sedona gem! This resort is flawless. We will be back, again!!

Gosh- I'd been to Enchantment a few years ago- it was first class- they are under construction and it's not worth going at the prices they're charging for food, rooms, drinks, with the make-shift restaurant- most of the staff is superb, but the management should provide advanced warning of the noise, dust everywhere, inferior tennis courts available and temporary bar/restaurant. If they'd extend some sort of discount for "growing pains", it would be a bit more tolerable but there's no empathy with top dollar rates being charged....

On behalf of the Enchantment Resort staff let me say we regret your experience at Enchantment was less than exceptional. Exceeding expectations is of utmost importance to us. While it does appear we missed the mark during your recent visit, we are taking every opportunity to inform guests of the construction when booking and making every effort to accommodate guests during the renovation of the club house. We appreciate your patronage and thank you for taking the time to share your experience. If you would like to speak with our General Manager directly please feel free to email me your contact informaton. I can be reached at Jthorn@enchantmentresort.com.
