Views of Boynton Canyon and Sedona aside, this resort rocks like no other. The staff are friendly, helpful and kind. The service at the spa and hotel is phenomenal and the casitas are immaculate, stunningly designed and comfortable. Worth EVERY penny.

Room Tip: There's 70 acres and over 200 rooms. Ask for one with a view, and if you can afford it, upgrade to one of the bigger rooms with a fireplace and a pool on your back patio.

The name of this place really fits. The bar has great sunset views and is a great place to go for drinks before dinner. The restaurant has the same great views and its nice, but dinner there was merely "very good" rather than "excellent" and we were expecting "excellent." However, we had 2 breakfasts at the restaurant and they WERE both excellent. The room and breakfast package was a great deal.

Room Tip: Be clear on how high up the hill you are willing or able to hike.

We have stayed at this resort at 6 different times. Some for family vacations and some for couple.
This time was a couple vacation. I asked in advance for a great view. Upon arrival we were taken to a king size bedroom with a view over looking the laundry. We spent the next hour looking at 6 more rooms.
This resort has great views but their air conditioning systems are so loud. We went into 3 diffrent rooms that the air conditioning was so loud that there was no peaceful feeling at all.
The other 2 rooms had no views. The room we settled on had no view at all. It was quite.
The rooms were newly redecorated. They look like they came out of Pottery Barn. The native decor is gone. The lobby and the spa are very worn and beat. The food was fair.
I do not know what has happened to this resort. The staff is friendly but the front desk is not knowlegable at all. The manager did not seem to understand that we wanted a room that was quite with a view. Housekeeping was very, very slow and did not restock our bathroom. We have stayed here for years and are now looking into other hotels in Sedona.

Room Tip: Ask for a QUITE ROOM away from air conditioners. Also ask for a view and a room newly decorated.

While the location is spectacular and the rooms top rate the service is second class. We arrived after a two hour drive from Phoenix only to be confronted with a twenty minute wait at the front desk before someone could escort us to our room. There were at least four other couples also waiting and the conversation abound about our first impression of the resort. Needless to say it was not positive. Some time should be spent in training the front desk staff in dealing with the public, very unprofessional and lacking what you would expect from a top notch (?) hotel. Should I also mention that two of the lights in our room were not working and the door to an adjoiining suite was unlocked. Would not go back again.

My husband, 4 year old son and I stayed in a Junior Suite for 2 nights following a business trip to Scottsdate. Amazing! Views, views, views everywhere on the property! The room was gorgeous, and the views from the room's balcony outstanding. The views alone are worth the price, but luckily, the service was mostly top notch, the pool very nice, and the hiking trail behind the spa a nice surprise.

The only small complaint is that what might be viewed as the lower level of staff (golf cart drivers, housekeeping, spa shop personnell) were nicer, more professional and more personable than the front desk staff and restaurant (Yavapai) staff.

Room Tip: The junior suite was very nice. However, it looks like the views would be great from any room.
