My wife and I stayed here in week 1 October based on earlier good reviews. It definitely exceeded our expectations - large very clean room, comfortable bed, quiet, everything we had hoped for, and at such a low nightly price. The staff were excellent and very friendly, The young lady manning the desk during the day gave us excellent travel advice and driving instructions, recommending a visit to the old mining town, Jerome, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The young lady on duty in the evening recommended a really good restaurant in a small shopping mall across the street - great food! There's also a large grocery store and a great little breakfast cafe within a short walk from the back of their parking lot, We stayed on the 2nd floor, with a view of the surrounding Sedona landscape from our balcony, which I have posted here as well. All in all, highly recommended!

We stayed here at the end of a 25 day road trip. Whilst Sedona was heaving with tourists the Desert Quail was a tranquil oasis. The rooms are large and well appointed. The heated swimming pool was a bonus in October. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

It is a little further from Sedona (in the "unincorporated Sedona" as we were told by the front desk - I think this translates into "not really in Sedona, in Oak Creek") but close enough and way better value for the money than anywhere in town at least as far as we could tell. Got a lovely BIG room with a fireplace and jacuzzi, and enough room for a pullout and a cot with the 4 of us. Having a fireplace was really nice at night. It is motel style, but the rooms are much more, and it is very quiet. Right next to a grocery store which is convenient. The only comment I have is that the front desk staff are not the friendliest. We tried to ask many questions about stuff to do or places to go and they weren't extremely helpful or all that nice. But don't let that deter you, because it is a wonderful hotel.

We found the Desert Quail Inn to be inexpensive, clean, and modern. Nick was very accommodating. I neglected to mention my need for a ground level room when booking our room. Nick was able to find a room for us. He seemed to recognize our needs before we did by offering dining suggestions and events. His customer service was excellent. The room was updated, clean, and comfortable. We will definitely stay there again.

We stayed for two nights recently at Desert Quail Inn. It is conveniently located in Oak Creek...a beautiful 15 minute drive from Sedona. We were not sorry that we decided to stay in Oak Creek, rather than in downtown Sedona. The hotel has recently been renovated and was very reasonably priced! All details in our room were very nice, except some older-looking pink curtains that evidently hadn't been replaced yet. Everything was very clean. Our only real complaint was that the bed was really, really firm. Even though Desert Quail is an old-style motel building, it was very quiet. We never heard anything from the floor upstairs, either room beside us,or outside. The owner(who was on duty the entire time- morning and night) was very helpful and welcoming. If we come back to the Sedona area, we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ground floor is better if you have a lot of luggage.

We started our vacation in Oak Creek (which is a great place to stay...outside of the tourist area of Sedona, but close by with awesome views of its own) and stayed for 2 nights at the Desert Quail Inn. We had a standard room which was very clean and functional. Breakfast is available right next door at the Red Rock Cafe...and you get a 10% discount for being a guest at the DQI. After a 2 day visit to the Grand Canyon, we returned to Oak Creek and the Desert Quail. We had a fireplace room which again was very clean and functional. Now don't get me wrong...this isn't the Hilton, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper and meets my basic requirements for vacation...clean and convenient. After all, who spends their whole vacation in the room anyway? The staff was very helpful in acquainting us with the area and had a great knowledge of Sedona as well. We would definitely return to this Inn when we're in the area.

We were attending a conference given at the Hyatt in Sedona. The rooms available there were very expensive. Found the Desert Quail Inn a block away. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a nice size with even a small sitting area. It was nicely decorated and had a microwave and fridge. A very nice stay and great value.
