We visit at Sedona four times a year and every time we  stay at different hotels . Saw the reviews for the Desert Quail and decided to try it . Nice motel. Definitely not a resort. Clean comfortable rooms. And good customer service. Overall very satisfied, good value.  Stayed one night and went to the Grand Canyon the next night and decided to come back to Sedona annd stayed for another 2 nights at the desert quail. We like the fact that it's not in the middle of the Touristy area and the traffic. About four blocks away from the Bell rock. Nice little breakfast place next door. Convenience grocery store next-door. Will definitely return to stay at the Desert Quail.

Great motel south of Sedona. Clean rooms. Recently updated. Nice, small pool. Grocery store directly behind hotel if you want to stock the mini fridge in the room. Beds comfy and linens clean. Perfect price especially because you are not in your hotel for long when you are in such a beautiful place!

We arrived in the late evening to a churlish and surly "welcome" from the man who eventually trundled his way to the desk to give us a key. The rooms are quite dreary but clean--well, that is, when we checked in it was clean. Despite staying two nights our room was never cleaned. Location is a bit of a hike to anything in Sedona from here. This is certainly nothing special and not worth its rating, but I would have given it two stars were it not for the fact that, when I returned home, I also found that we had been overcharged for our room! (We left before 7 a.m. so just had to use a key drop.) The amount was refunded, but this should not have happened. I'd recommend finding another place in the Sedona area--there's nothing to recommend this.

We had never been to Sedona, so didn't know the layout of the area and booked this room based on TripAdvisor reviews. Upon first arrival we were a little concerned about being south of the main part of town in the Village of Oak Creek. It turned out we were so pleased with the accommodations that it was well worth the 7 minute commute, plus we were quite happy to be out of the main commercial area of Sedona. The view was spectacular, the room was immaculate, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The bed was comfy and luxurious and the owners were delightful. There is an IGA grocery store steps away behind the property, and an excellent coffee/tea shop, Firecreek Coffee, just one block up the road. We will certainly stay here again on our future trips to Sedona.

We spent two nights here, for a brief interlude of hiking and photography in Sedona. It was a great decision, and we would have liked to stay longer. The Motel has been upgraded, and the owner said that upgrades were continuing. Very clean, comfortable mattress, good internet, adequate refrigerator, better than usual amount of space for a motel room.

No breakfast, but a fine breakfast or lunch can be found in a cafe immediately behind the hotel. There's also a fully stocked IGA supermarket next door to the cafe, which caters to visitors with a nice selection of sandwiches and other items to take away. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

Location in Oak Creek Village is around 20" drive from the tourist part of Sedona, which meant lower room prices. Location is very good for the Bell and Courthouse rocks, and for sunset views of the Cathedral rock. There are a number of excellent viewpoints along the road to Sedona. Several good hiking trails are nearby, as well as the famous chapel in the rocks.

We highly recommend this motel, and we'd definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 4 nights in June and were very pleased with the hotel. It is a small (39 room) owner operated hotel located about 10 minutes south of downtown Sedona very close to Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. The updated rooms were spotless, roomy -we had a king sized bed and a sofa with a coffee table and desk, microwave and mini fridge and still had plenty of room to move around - and very comfortable. It was evident that the owners take pride in their property. Our room was near the pool but that was never a problem. Although no breakfast is served there is a good cafe and a grocery store a 2 minute walk away. Heather (at the front desk) was very friendly and helpful. We would absolutely stay here again and will recommend it to friends.

We stayed here for one night on our way from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon in late March. This was a great location near Bell Rock, where we wanted to hike a bit, and we had a quiet, comfortable night. The bed was very comfortable and it was clear that the rooms were recently remodeled. It is a family-owned business and they were short-staffed so the owner, who seemed somewhat overwhelmed/frazzled, was working the desk with a young child. He recommended a breakfast place just behind the parking lot which was fantastic.
