We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived in Desert Quail Inn on our way to the Grand Canyon. A warm welcome, a large, spotless room, a flat screen tv and what the hubby especially appreciates, a comfortable bed. In the summertime when it's really hot we liked the pool and the fridge in the room to keep our drinks cold. There was a gas station to get snacks and drinks just across the road. A nice cafe Red Rock was behind the motel for breakfast. Wonderful view of the Red Rocks on our morning and evening walks. What more could you ask for?

A group of us stayed here while hiking in the area. The location was perfect - out of congested downtown Sedona but very close to everywhere we wanted to go. The rooms are large & are very well decorated with very comfortable beds & big flat screen TVs. The larger than most hotel refrigerator & microwave were a very nice feature. There are chairs outside the room doors on the upstairs balcony so after hiking we had a happy hour on the balcony that has a good view of some of the red rocks. And this was one of the most economical places to stay, with very friendly & helpful people behind the reception desk. The place we will be staying at from now on!

We recently stayed here for one night on our way to the Grand Canyon. The room was spotless and newly redecorated. Very comfortable beds. When we checked in someone was sweeping the stairs and parking lot in the middle of the afternoon. It is located in the Village of Oak Creek which is a short drive to Sedona BUT the drive is beautiful so you don't even notice the distance. We ate breakfast at the Red Rock located in the strip mall behind the motel. Very good and reasonably priced. If passing thru Sedona again I would stay here without hesitation!

We just returned from a 2 night stay at the Desert Quail Inn. What a great value. This motel has been recently renovated and was very clean and comfortable. The room was spotless. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The amenities were over the top. The bed was very comfortable. It was obvious that the owner takes pride in his property.

My wife and I were looking for a base while spending time in Sedona and Oak Creek. We were not looking for fancy but comfortable. It was just that. The rooms were need and modern and the furniture was in good shape. Great t.v. with plenty of channels. My wife wanted to take the mattress home with us. We had people above us and on both sides and the noise was minimal. We will use this place again.

The one negative was the shower. Both my wife and I are in our mid 60s. We don't mind showers but would prefer a non slip surface or a portable mat that could be placed in the tub. Could be a little dangerous. Have seen this in many places and don't understand why these precautions are not taken.

Still a good stay and we will be back.

This remodeled motel in Village of Oak Creek near Sedona is a best kept secret. It is conveniently located right on Hwy 179. Great value for the money. Owner grew up in the motel business. He has gutted and remodeled the place in the past year or so. Beds are extremely comfortable. Furnishings look more like those of an upscale hotel. Vanity area has granite counter tops. HD TV, mini fridge, microwave, free WIFI. Large comfortable rooms.

We drove in extremely tired from a long day on the road. We had failed to request a downstairs room in our reservation. The motel was booked solid for the night. We had one night there before our flight out of PHX the next day. We had several pieces of heavy luggage to manage, which would have been a real effort to lug to an upstairs room. (My husband is age 70, I am age 60.) We explained our need for a downstairs room, and the owner very graciously accommodated us. He also printed boarding passes for us the next morning. His desk clerk was an IT person and was very helpful getting us hooked up to the internet on our laptop.

Is this the place you would want to stay for your week's vacation in the Sedona area? Maybe not. But it sure was a great find for a one night stay! You can't beat it for the value when you are just passing through town and basically need a shower and a comfortable bed for a good night's rest. I would highly recommend this motel to anyone for a short stay in the area.

Room Tip: Be sure to tell the person taking the reservation if you need a lower floor room. This places fills...
