“Third Visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

I first visited on my own by chance as part of a solo motorcycle tour and have been back twice since with my partner Kay booking direct through B&B.com I think.

Kay says that the place has such a peaceful relaxing atmosphere, that when coupled with Carrie and Mark making sure you have all you need to sit back and soak up the views, you have a great way to recharge ready for the next day's adventures - and the best thing about a day's adventures are that they start with a Cozy Cactus breakfast - the perfect start to the day!

We stayed in the Cowboy Hideaway on this visit and it was just right, spacious, very comfortable and only a few steps from the freshly brewed coffee in the morning.

We will definitely be back again one day soon, we love Arizona and Sedona and the Cozy Cactus - I think once you have been once, then you wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

This is a WAY-WAY PAST DUE BIG THANK YOU for taking the time to share your “cozy experience” with potential future “Cozies”. We are having an amazing year, and as it is just the two of us, it seems that there are just not enough hours in the day to do everything we want…like write personal responses. However, we wanted to say thank you and we know that you know that even if this is a “generic” thank you, we know that you know it comes from the heart and we can’t wait for your return. Cozy Cactus exceeded all expectations. Carrie was very gracious in accommodating us at the last minute for a one night stay in the Sedona Sky suite between Christmas and New Years. My wife and I and our 3 teenage daughters thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. We awoke to freshly fallen snow. The view from our patio was simply breathtaking. The suite was wonderful. The decor and furnishings made for a very comfortable stay and the breakfast was amazing. We all claim that Mark's homemade Mango and Cranberry muffins were the best muffin's we had ever tasted! Mark, Carrie and Lori were excellent hosts. We were sincerely welcomed and it was very apparent that they really care about their guests. I would highly commend the Cozy Cactus. We can't wait to return

On another note, the day we arrived in Sedona we opted to rent a 5 passenger TomCar ATV for 4 hours of self guided (with provided maps), off-road sightseeing instead of taking a guided jeep tour. It was the highlight of our Christmas vacation! Highly recommended for those that are a bit adventurous.....very, very fun.

The Cozy Cactus B&B was a wonderful example of what a bed and breakfast should be. Warm and inviting innkeepers, clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful surroundings and delicious breakfasts to start each day.

Mark and Carrie, along with their assistant Lori, served up fabulous breakfasts each morning. For those that have any dietary restrictions, Mark and Carrie made every effort to accommodate each guest. They also have an extensive knowledge of the local restaurants and can help arrange for reservations.

If you are lucky, since the back patio is just a few feet away from National Park property, you may get a visit from some of the wildlife. A cute rabbit and some quail wondered past one of the mornings during our stay.

If you have an opportunity to travel to Sedona, be sure to place the Cozy Cactus on your short list for accommodations. I promise that you will not be disappointed.

Our room was clean, inviting, nicely-decorated, well-appointed, and comfortable. Our breakfasts began with delicious homemade muffins, courtesy of Mark the "Muffin Czar." One morning Carrie made us delicious huevos rancheros, and Mark served up baked grapefruit.

The truly extraordinary part of this bed and breakfast is the fact that the back patio, where breakfast is served, is but a few feet from National Park property, and the view of the red desert is stunning. In the near distance stands Bell Rock, which serves as the focal point of the fabulous vista. In the immediate foreground is a bush and cactus-lined fence that separates the lush patio from the desert. Along that fence passes a constant parade of quail families, rabbits, lizards, and other small animals, while hummingbirds and other birds flit about in the patio trees. As another guest explained, it is like eating breakfast in a Disney movie.

Mark and Carrie are very knowledgeable about the area--places to eat, where to hike, things to do--and they were more than happy to help make our vacation a great one. With their advice, we saw many great sites and hiked miles of trails in the Sedona area, but one of our great Sedona experiences includes the hikes we started from right there in the back of the Cozy Cactus and the enjoyable evenings spent sipping wine on the back patio.

This Cozy Cactus perfectly facilitates the Sedona experience, and we highly recommend it to others.

Our family of four (including two teenagers) stayed at The Cozy Cactus for three nights in the week before Christmas. We were warmly welcomed by Lori, Mark and Carrie after a long drive from Tuscon. Sedona is a striking part of the country and the Cozy Cactus is perfectly positioned to enjoy the spectacular scenery and relax and unwind. Our hosts were exceptional: the accommodation was extremely comfortable and equipped with everything needed for self sufficiency. The breakfasts, as have been previously reported on TA, were simply outstanding. The easy manner in which Carrie and Mark manage The Cozy Cactus belie their attention to detail and willingness to provide anything needed to make a travelor's stay in Sedona the highlight of a US visit.

The Cozy Cactus B&B is wonderful. It and its amazing host and hostess exceeded my expectations for our week-long stay in Sedona. All the fabulous reviews I read were spot-on. Mark and Carrie provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere and accommodated some special scheduling issues. They had helpful suggestions on what to see and do in the area and even made reservations for us for restaurants and tours. We stayed in the new Vortex Vista suite. The view of Bell Rock was incredible, and the room was a very comfortable home-away-from-home. Being right on the boundary of a national forest makes for amazing views and easy access to a really nice hiking trail right out of the back door. Be sure to save time for that walk. Also, there is a really good Chinese restaurant that is within walking distance. The drive from the Cozy Cactus into Sedona is less than 15 minutes and is beautiful. There are trailheads for several well-known hiking spots on the way. I am so glad we chose Cozy Cactus to relax after our busy days of hiking, golfing and shopping in the Sedona area. We will definitely be back.

This is the most incredible place. The hosts are so much fun. And they serve up delicious breakfasts. It's so enjoyable to sit out on the back patio and enjoy the beautiful views. The rooms are so delightfully decorated and comfy. We so enjoyed all of the birds that visit throughout the day. We unanimously agree we will always stay at the Cozy Cactus on trips to Sedona.
