We stayed at the Slide Rock Lodge this weekend. Joanne and Andy must have been away for the weekend. There was a very nice young lady working the front desk who was helpful.

However, the website is very misleading. The creek fishing it mentions is on the other side of the hotel and you do have to cross a somewhat dangerous road and walk behind the guardrail to get to the gate you have to unlock to get to the trail down to the creek area. A bit unnerving with little ones wanting to play in the water.

While you are walking distance from Slide Rock Park, it is far from realistic to walk the very dangerous half mile stretch from the lodge.

The room was clean for the most part, yes a blanket and sheet was stained. No electrical outlets in the bathroom. Beds did leave us a bit on the sore side in the morning.

The purpose of the no phones, no TV, I can understand that, it is peaceful out there. But I am just not a big fan of misleading advertising.

I can see where this motor lodge could have been the cream of the crop in 1960's, but it could use some work.

We traveled from Massachusetts and had a few stops through out the South West, and by far, the best most relaxing and friendly spot was in Oak Creek Canyon at the Slide Rock Lodge. The owners, Joanne & Andy were really helpful in taking care of our needs. The room is cozy - we love the restful sounds of the wind in the tall trees outside the door and the creek right across the street. Having no television was so refreshing! You can really get away from it all there. This was my second time and I really wanted to share this magical place with my husband, so we made a special stop there, I'm hopeful we can go back!

SLIDE ROCK LODGE, Sedona, AZ, is nestled in the serene Oak Creek Canyon. We have frequented this wonderful place for the past 10 years to celebrate Birthdays and Anniversaries sometimes just to get away!!!! The attraction is NO television or phone in the room to interrupt the quiet beauty of nature that surrounds the Lodge. Hosts, Joanne and Andy, are two VERY exceptional people always friendly and helpful to acquaint you with the area. In our opinion, if you prefer Clean, Quiet, Romantic surroundings, the place to stay is SLIDE ROCK LODGE.

We stayed here on a group outing for several nights and the owners Joanne & Andy were remarkable. The actually set us up with a wonderful moonlit barbeque out on their deck. Service was wonderful. This is a lodge not necessarily a 5 star resort and with that being said, this was a wonderful place to stay. No televisions, beautiful surroundings -- you can't beat the view. Only downside was no cell phone service in the canyon and without phones in the rooms it was difficult to keep in touch with significant others. I can't wait to come back here again.

No phone, No tv, Stained bed sheet (gross), noisy a/c made it difficult to sleep. Office closes at 8pm. Staff refused to adjust bill due to dirty bed sheet & a/c. This place makes Motel 6 look like a 5 star resort, but costs 3 times as much.
Buyer Beware!!!!

I felt so comfortable and welcome yet not intruded upon. During a very busy Sedona Weekend, we were able to escape the huge crowds to retreat to the private access creek area and enjoy the lovely weather and surroundings. Unbelievable!! Cant wait to go back. We will stay there again and most likely before the end of this year!
Thanks so much to Andy and Joanne :)

I have stayed at other hotels in sedona, and I will be going back to Slide Rock lodge. Nothing compares to the staff that took excellent care of us and went out of their way to make our stay a perfect 4th of July. The private creek on the property allowed us to get away from the busy crowd over the weekend. They have a room there that has its own private patio WOW what a view during the day and night . I have to say I thought I was going to miss my television, who needs that when you have a beautiful view and a staff that treats you like family .
