“Had a Great Stay!”
Reviewed December 30, 2010

My wife and I came here the day after Christmas and enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very charming and had a southwest theme. We had a King Deluxe View Room on the second floor and it was roomy and quiet. The view was ok since we had to see through telephone wires but, just five minutes up dry creek road will give you incredible views. The complimentary breakfast was very satisfying. The staff were very nice as well.

We did the Pink Jeep tours and we highly recommend it. We tried the restaurants called Relics across the street and the trout almondine was excellent. My wife had the Tilapia which was also very good.

The Inn is on the west side of town away from the main drag which is nice if you want it quiet. However, if you want to close enough to walk to a lot of shopping areas, you may want to stay on the east side.

All in all, we had a great time in Sedona and would recommend the Southwest Inn if you want a nice place that is reasonably priced and quiet.

Our good impression of the Southwest Inn was formed when we first phoned the inn. Jamey answered our many questions and gave excellent suggestions about Sedona tours. We had such a good feeling we booked to stay for a week, using the Inn as our hub. The location in West Sedona is ideal. Most of the hiking and exploring of the Red Rocks was a short drive with no traffic. We walked to fine restaurants and The Well Red Coyote bookstore. Our room was large and comfortable and had an incredible sunset view from the balcony from which I painted. There was a fridge which we stocked from the nearby supermarket. The Inn is imaginatively landscaped and the sound of fountains lulled us to sleep. We found a perfect place to celebrate our 50th anniversary affordably. The staff made us feel like family and gave us great tips. It was fun to meet the other guests at breakfast and exchange stories with them. Many were there with children. The pool was refreshing after we'd been hiking and bird watching. We compared the Southwest Inn to other hotels in Sedona and think it's the best value and location. We will return.

This is a small inn full of charm and sincere hospitality. We stayed here for 2 days and found the room comfortable and the complimentary breakfast buffet filling and delicious. I really like the breakfast burritos. The host I believe is an East Coast transplant who has taken well to her new city. She recommended good restaurants and things to do. Highly recommend this inn!

We had a great time at the Southwest Inn and all the staff was very helpful. When we arrived our room was by the pumphouse and we could hear it in our room, so we asked if maybe we could change rooms. They were very accommodating and moved us to a suite for the same price. They also gave us great advice on restaurants, hikes, etc. The free breakfast was quite good. This hotel is quite a ways from the "action" of downtown, but it's sort of nice to be away from all the tourists. Sedona is beautiful. Be careful if you go on the East Fork hike in the winter, as it can be very cold and strenuous. Bundle up for sure. Also, we had dinner at Dahl and Diluca which was excellent. Also italian food at Picassa Gourmet Pizza which was lively and good. Don't miss the Pink Jeep Broken Arrow tour. Lots of fun.

We have visited Sedona many times, and driven by Southwest Inn, but stayed there for the first time this year. The room was quiet, parking was easy, decor was very nice, everything clean, neat and well cared for by the staff. Front desk people were very helpful.

This is a reasonably priced hotel compared to others in Sedona. I don't think you can go wrong staying here.

My husband and I stayed at the Southwest Inn for 4 nights. We paid $149/night and felt that it was a very good value. The room was huge! We really enjoyed the gas fireplace. The bathroom was very spacious and the jacuzzi tub was perfect for relaxing after all the hiking we did. We both found the king bed to very comfortable. The flat screen TV was a good size. I found the location of the inn to be great. Some people complained that because it is in West Sedona, that the inn is a little out of the way. I found this to be untrue. The main hub of Sedona, although has all the shops and a decent selection of restaurants, was a little too touristy for my taste. I can't imagine not having a car in Sedona so if you do it doesn't matter where in Sedona you stay because the activities are pretty spread out. Breakfast was more than your continental fare and included burritos and waffles. There is a great deli in the lot next to the inn called the Euro Deli that sells breakfast and lunch items as well. There are also some restaurants nearby too if one doesn't want to drive. Another issue some people complained about which we were a little worried about was the "highway noise". When I think highway I think of the Grand Central or LIE. Yes, the inn off of the main road 89A which I guess is considered a highway. Regardless, we did not hear a pin drop the whole time there. We did not use their pool because it was a little cold during our visit. The also have a nice sized hot tub for guests to use. Overall, the Southwest Inn was exactly what we were looking, a quiet cozy room for a great value.

My only minor minor complaint....I bought myself one of those adorable cowboy boot keychains as a keepsake and it broke just hanging on my key rack.

great front desk! helpful tips and suggestions. very clean, very attractive and convenient. the only thing i had to get used to was the front desk closed at 9 so you had to make sure everything you needed was done before then. not a big problem to handle with a little planning ahead. i love the decor and how knowledgeable the staff was. they had plush terry cloth bathrobes for my husband and i. my son asked if he could have one too and they gladly obliged. very kid friendly also. nice, smallish pool and the jacuzzi was also a hit :). the free breakfast was loaded with many, many choices. gave the hotel almost a b&b feel.
