We stayed here for four nights of our spring break with our two teenaged kids. We had a King suite where the kids shared the sofa bed in the living room. There were plenty of drawers for us all to unpack, as I hate living out of a suitcase. The location is nice, close to town, but away from all the crowds and bustle of "uptown" Sedona. Trailheads to our two favorite hikes, Boynton Canyon and Devil's Bridge are around the corner and just up the road.
The staff was helpful, suggested some restaurants, including Oak Creek Brewery, which we would recommend. The wall mounted hair dryer burned out as soon as I turned it on, but they had a replacement in the office which worked fine. For us, the breakfast was great. Coffee for my daughter, waffles and burritos for my husband and son, and oatmeal for me. Some more fruit, even just bananas, might have been nice. My 12 year old son, who seems to have a bottomless stomach these days, said the burritos were the highlight of his trip - they say a man's heart is through his stomach...
The rooms are clean, appear just as pictured, and the towels and bed linens were very nice, as are the robes. After days of hiking, I slept great, even in our room, which was closest to the highway. There was some traffic noise, but nothing too bothersome. The only bummer was when we went to soak in the hot tub one night and the water was not hot enough. It was tepid, and too cold to stay in.
I thought this was a really good value and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. This was my first visit to Sedona, and I can't wait to go back!

We have wanted to visit Sedona but couldn't find a nice place that was affordable during spring break. Stumbled on Southwest Inn at Sedona, and we are so glad we did. The whole place is immaculate, the rooms are lovely and very comfortable, and it had the best hotel bed I have ever slept in! The kiva fireplace was perfect on chilly nights, the pool was great on the hot sunny days, and breakfast was perfect very day. LOVED their homemade breakfast burritos and will try to replicate that at home! We got a room with a jacuzzi tub - only used it once. It took forever to fill, but mostly we didn't bother with it because the outdoor hot tub was absolutely perfect- I think we used it at least twice every day. It was great even on chilly days and nights - great to soak and watch the stars. The Innkeeper Craig was the nicest guy - super friendly and helpful The place was both a treat and a bargain - we would be thrilled to stay there agin!

Room Tip: Don't bother with paying for a in-room jacuzzi tub

The rooms were large, roomy and spotlessly clean. The staff were very, very friendly and accommodating. The robes were great - I used it to sit out and watch the sunrise in the mornings with my coffee. There is free buffet breakfast in the morning that looks sufficient but I mostly just grabbed coffee and headed to New Frontiers for breakfast. Service and friendliness of staff really were outstanding.

If you decide to get a room with a view on the second floor, I'd recommend getting a room as far away from the street and hotel lobby as possible. I was about midway and some of my view was blocked by the remainder of the hotel.

My biggest disappointment in the hotel was also a plus - you are right on 89S. That means lots of traffic noise when sitting on the balcony but also easy access. Most of my activities were in West Sedona so this hotel was extremely convenient in location.

Felt almost like a B&B at half the price. Would stay there again.

Room Tip: Get a room at the far end of the hotel for less street noise and better view. Worth having a second...

Our room was exactly as pictured on the website, no unpleasant surprises. The bathroom was very roomy, much larger than the average hotel bathroom, Towels were large and fluffy, and complementary robes were provided. The weather was quite cool, so we didn't take the opportunity to sit on our balcony or use the hot tub ( which looked very clean and inviting). The only slight negative was the breakfast, which is included with your room stay. Hard boiled eggs, micro waved burritos and cereal. Coffee, orange juice and water for beverages. The make your own waffles were good.
The guys at the front desk were very helpful, helping us choose and then booking our Pink Jeep tour. They also gave us tips on places for dinner, though because it was the busy season they could not get us reservations at the two highest recommended restaurants.
Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have entrance from the back and a better view of the red rocks.

Stayed here over Spring Break - one of the busiest times of the year. With a few exceptions, we recommend the Inn if you are looking for an attractive, above average casual Inn at an affordable price. We paid $160 a night for a second floor room away from the highway. The Inn's location at the West End of Sedona provides a more peaceful, scenic setting than lodging closer to "Uptown" Sedona where the "tourist action" is heaviest. A drive to Uptown and its dining and shopping is about 10-15 minutes (about 4 miles) depending on traffic. There are also plenty of dining and retail opportunities close to the Southwest Inn. Our second floor room was nicely decorated in a Southwest motif - same as the building's architecture. Our room was clean and comfortable with just enough amenities. We'd rate it three stars out of five. Balconies with table and chairs are a nice touch

THE PROS: Quieter end of town. Staff is friendly, service-oriented and very knowledgeable of the area. The breakfast room is located on a second floor with lots of windows and light plus an outdoor balcony with tables looks out at the Red Rocks. Rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. There's a swimming pool and hot tub if that's your thing. THE CONS: The free Wi Fi is slow and spotty at times - a problem that is not new according to a repeat guest. The phone system is also connected to the internet which means it can also go out - as ours did. The included, self-serve breakfast offers enough staples (but no fruit except apples) to get you prepared for a morning outdoors without being hungry. But too often, a breakfast rush resulted in items and utensils running. On three days, it was necessary to prod the nice but overworked breakfast staffer to refill yogurt, milk, coffee, utensils, napkins, plates, etc. A second microwave is needed for those who "cook" the tasty and healthy black bean burritos offered daily. If you choose a second floor room, be aware that there are no elevators and you'll need to walk up two flights of outside stairs.

The Southwest Inn will more than fill the bill while leaving you with some money in your pocket for dining, shopping and attraction fees. If you are looking for a high end hotel chain or resort experience, go elsewhere.

Room Tip: Ask for a second floor room furthest back from Highway 89A.

The property is very clean and the staff is helpful and professional. Suites are roomy and well-appointed. The TV in the sleeping area is connected to satellite. The TV in the sitting area handles videos only.

Complimentary breakfast was disappointing. The Inn brags up its special breakfast burritos. What they don't say is the burritos must be nuked by guests and that only one small microwave is available. Only a few other minor items are on the buffet. Choose a bagel or fight a hungry German for a place in line for the microwave. The locked thermostat in the breakfast area was set at almost 80.

My teenage children and I stayed here for 3 nights in early March. The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. It was easy to get to any activities we did from here. If you are going to the uptown area plan to arrive early to secure parking, which is limited. Good restaurants are nearby.

All rooms have a balcony and face east, which is where the parking lot is. Rooms on the second floor have a nice view. Breakfast was simple, but did the trick for us. For quieter rooms ask for one near the pool as the inn is right on the main thoroughfare and there was traffic noise.

All in all a pretty good value for Sedona.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor as all rooms overlook the parking lot. Rooms nearer the lobby ar...
