“Absolutely Incredible!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2007

My husband and I stayed at Canyon Villa Inn in Sedona in the Ocotillo room Sept 19-21st. What an incredible place this is. I have never felt more at home in my life! We have travelled quite a bit and think this is one of the BEST places we have ever stayed. It is so luxurious and Peg and Les along with their staff are very detail oriented and go out of their way to make your visit special. The views from our room were so beautiful. The air is fresh here (we live in NY) and the sunsets are amazing. The food is very delicious and creative as well. Certainly not the run of the mill cuisine. Everything is spotless. I am very nit-picky about accommodations and I will say that everything looks fresh and clean. The carpet looks brand new and every wall molding and balcony railing looks freshly painted. The bathrooms are spotless as well as everything else. It is apparent that these innkeepers really care about the look of their establishment. I HIGHLY recommend a stay with them while in the Sedona area. I had very high expectations after reading all the reviews before me and I can confirm that what people say is 100% accurate!

Our stay was simply perfect down to every little detail. The view from our room and in fact from all of the inn was breath taking with 3 huge red rocks to the left, center and right . It was amazing to watch the effects of the sun on these rocks.

The breakfasts were gourmet and served beautifully as you would find in the finest restaurants. The staff attended to every detail during the meal and you never lacked for anything. Later on, scrumptious cookies and iced tea were the routine during the afternoon, with delicious snacks available from 5-6 pm.

It was a delight to just sit at the pool and enjoy the Sedona scenery and the beauty of the manicured property. The staff also helped us set up several private tours with Southwest Outside. Our tour guide, Greg, was very knowledgeable and we rode in air conditioned comfort in an SUV to the canyon while learning a lot about points of interest along the way. Included in this tour was an IMAX film at a Grand Canyon visitor center which was fantastic and a great introduction to what we were going to see. Also included with the tour was plenty of water, sodas and a luncheon at one of the most popular and lovely inns in the Canyon area. During our actual experience of the canyon,Greg set up a telescope at each stop so that we can see very well into the depths of the canyon. Stops were also included at canyon gift shops where we could shop as long as we wanted. The sunset tour that Greg took us on the following day was the most beautiful sunset we have ever seen, from high up on one of the beautiful red rocks. It is suggested that you bring wine, which we did and Greg served it in wine glasses that he provided along with an array of fresh fruit, cheese, crackers and chocolates. And there wasn't much hiking involved to get to this point; this is important for anyone who is not physically able to hike a great distance. We highly recommend Southwest Outside if you are considering a tour of the Sedona area or Grand Canyon. Since our tours were private tours, we felt that they were custom made for us.

The staff at Canyon Villa was always available to take care of any need, whether it be recommending and making reservations at local restaurants, advising us of places to shop for wine and other supplies (since they do not have a liquor license, they cannot supply liquor but you can buy and drink it there), great places for souvenir shopping or just to chat. We might also add that when we did buy our wine, that they have all the necessary tools needed to drink it, including both glass and plastic wine goblets that you can take to the pool area. Canyon Villa also has a small gift shop where you can purchase an array of photos, post cards, coffee mugs, toiletries, cookbooks, other books and jewelry. What we liked about their making restaurant reservations was that they provided us with a printout of the selected restaurant which included the reservation time, a photo of the restaurant, directions to it and how long it takes to get there. Later on, every evening, they light a fire in the outside fireplace by the pool area where you can relax and enjoy the fire and starlit skies. We stayed in the Strawberry Cactus room which was very beautiful and comfortable with a private balcony and a stained glass window in the bathroom which provided beautiful morning light when we showered. They have a library full of books that you can enjoy, menus from various restaurants and ideas for sighseeing for a half day, full day or whatever you have in mind. They also have a computer set up in the library for those of you who require internet/computer access.

All in all, Canyon Villa made our stay in Sedona perfect in every way and we definitely plan on returning again next year. We highly recommend a stay at Canyon Villa because it will more than fulfill your every expectation!

Canyon Villa has it goin' on!! Off the Hook!!
The personal touch of Les and Peg made our trip comfortable, quiet and relaxing. The staff is excellent, the breakfast is to your desire and the guests are always pleasant and often compelling! And we got out and had fun, too!
I suggest a road trip with Southwest Outdoor, a visit to Rustica Cucina for dinner, and the "piece de resistance"...open the door at the right time and hear the coyotes howl at the coming light!
We had searched through the internet and their presentation was the most appealing. And believe me, you will not be disappointed. This is the resort with a million dollar view and I have photos to prove it. ( Elsewhere on this site )

  • Liked — the personal touch and the view.
  • Disliked — I'll get back to you on that one!!! When I can figure out the answer!

Canyon Villa was the best Bed and Breakfast we have ever stayed at. The views were outstanding. The breakfasts were to die for and the appetizers in the afternoon were ample and delicious. The service was also superb by all the staff and the owners. An example of the service was when we returned from breakfast, our room was already made up which was very nice.
Another thing we liked about the Villa was the landscaping. It was very well designed, manicured, and beautiful.

The location of Canyon Villa was very convient to all the sightseeing but you did not even have to leave your room to see Bell Mountain and Courthouse Butte which were directly out your patio/balcony doors. Sedona, Jerome, Oak Creek valley etc were only a short jaunt. It was just great.

The staff was also very helpful with both recommendations and reservations for restaurants and sightseeing tours. We used a firm called Outside Adventures recommended by the staff to take a senic back roads tour of the red rocks of Sedona. It was in a 4 wheel drive SUV that was air conditioned and very comfortable yet we got to see all the same sites the local jeep tours did. He was also very knowledgeable about the area, history, and facts of formation, etc.

All in all our stay at Canyon Villa has to go down as one of our best stays. I would and probably will go back. I would not hesitate to recommend the place to any of my friends.

We had a very lovely stay at the inn. The hostess was very personable, friendly and welcoming. It was obvious it was very important to them that we were comfortable and all our needs were met. The room was very clean and the views were excellent. We highly recommend the inn to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing get-away.

My friends, one from Chicago and one from New York City, decided on a girlfriends weekend in late August. I found Canyon Villas on the internet and called and they had a great room for the three of us, complete with a gourmet breakfast. We were met by Debbie who showed us through the B&B and took us to our room...what a delight to see the red rocks so close you could almost touch them!!! It was time for the delicous hors d'oeuvre they make fresh each evening. Les and Peg have made their home into an enchanting B&B for everyone to enjoy. We were treated like treasured guests and family during our stay. We will book here the next time we're in Sedona.

I had the pleasure and honor of celebrating my birthday at Canyon Villa. Upon arrival we were greeted by Les, the co-owner, who helped my family with our luggage and gave us a personalized tour and the assurance that the staff was there to assist us in any way they could. The Inn has the look and feel of a large, beautiful home. Since there are just 10 rooms, the staff treated us like their family. In our room was a personal note from the owners to welcome us. The room was luxurious with a spa, a fireplace and a glorious English garden style patio overlooking the red rocks of Sedona. Even the small details were perfect, such as the soaps, creams and spa supplies which smelled like heaven; and the towels and sheets were soft beyond compare. From the patio we could enjoy the scenery, and we were treated to the sound of a water fall and to sights of butterflies and cardinals. The food at the Inn was beyond compare, elegantly presented and delicious. The cook came out to greet us one morning. We became fast friends with the staff and the other guests. It was a birthday I shall never forget, and my family would recommend the experience to anyone and everyone.
