We made a special day trip to try wineries in Cornville/Cottonwood and then dinner at Elote in Sedona. We put our name on the list before we were ready to eat and then went shopping because the wait is 1-2 hours.

We started with the vegetable tamale and Elote dip. They were very good. We also had the cilantro margarita and the cucumber margarita. All very fresh tasting and good. Various members of our group offered different entrées, all food was very good. But I am not sure it was worth driving up from Phoenix just for the food. If you find yourself in Sedona, absolutely check it out.

This restaurant was worth the wait! The service was incredible! Once we were seated we had home made salsa and chips! You MUST get the Elote under the appetizers! Most delicious corn dip ever! Our server suggested it and it was a slam dunk! I had the skirt steak and it was so juicy and tender, and the refried beans were creamy and wished I had more! The desserts are delicious and massive! Easily could be shared! It's absolutely worth the wait!

We stayed in Sedona for 5 days and we had the wonderful opportunity of eating at Elote Cafe. It was a bit of a wait - but well worth waiting for.
They have great food and great service. We would definitely go back again

I went into Elote thinking it is probably over-rated. Turns out I was wrong.

Mind you, this isn;t a cheap, normal Mexican food place. It is fancy and so is the menu.
The signature appetizer "Elote" is worth the visit. (Elote: Fire roasted corn with spicy mayo, lime and cotija cheese scooped up on tortilla chips.)

We ate their twice, and of the 4 entrees we got, every one was fabulous. The menu changes, so no specifics, but last time we got the Lamb Shank, and Smoked Chicken Enchiladas. Delish.

Expensive, but really good. Crowded on weekend evenings, even in the off-season.

Will definitely make it a tradition when we go to Sedona

Even for a Friday night we were able to get seated in a comfortable amount of time. We enjoyed our margaritas on the patio, next to the heaters while we waited for our table. Everything was great, especially the pork cheeks and the Elote appetizer.
