“Gorgeous Creekside location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2014

We had a one bedroom unit by the creek. It came with an in room jacuzzi tub that seated two people, a gas fireplace, new appliances, flat screen tv, king bed with nice linens. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We threw my husband a birthday party and had 15 people over. Duane at the front desk knew about the party in advance and due to lower occupancy during January he was able to keep the rooms on either side of us vacant so no one would be disturbed. The wi-fi service was good but a little slow at times and the TV in the bedroom was rather old and could use updating. We enjoyed being able to walk along the creek and the quiet and serenity of the location. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We enjoyed being down by the creek and directly across from the pool & jacuzzi

So be ready for a hotel room that basically has a walled off bedroom and a terrible kitchen. Not very accommodating for more than 2 people. The pullout couch is in the same room as everything else, including open walls to the bed. This would have been ok if the staff were easy to work with but this was terrible service. They had a surcharge to everything from additional soap for the shower to dishwasher tablets...u think they would want you to clean their dishes. Also, after staying an entire week, with probably only 5 units full (no where near full occupancy) they refused to give us an hour extension on late check out. They also advertise a pool that isn't heated and bbqs that don't even have functioning lighters. Good luck cooking here.

We had a studio which is basically a glorified motel room. The fireplace was nice and the whirlpool tub was pleasant. The backyard had a pond and fountain. The furnishings were comfortable and the room fairly well maintained.
On the down side, my wife and I were disappointed with the lack of kitchen equipment and the attitude of the staff.
The kitchenette is enhance by a dishwasher, but there is no oven and the frig is so small that it cannot hold more than the next day’s food. The freezer held 2 frozen dinners or the ice trays. Not both. The freezer stopped working while we were there. We heard everything from the family next door. Thankfully they were relatively quiet and kept normal hours so it was not too bad.
The internet was spotty. Might work and might not. The cable was so poor that the screen constantly was blinking “unusable signal”. Audio stayed on but the video would blink and sometimes just black out until you changed the channel and then back. It was very annoying. The furnace would make a loud click when it turned on. It awakened us each time.
The staff was welcoming and pleasant on check in until the next couple arrived. They made us sign a thing that agreed to put a $50 charge on our bill if we called them after hours regardless of the problem. The office closes at 5:30 and was often deserted. The pool was not heated and thus was unusable in Nov. There was no washer dryer in the room, which is understandable but the one the allowed us to use required us to pay.
I think the problem is that there is no motivation. The staff bragged that the timeshare was sold out and only had one come up occasionally. They are coasting and have lost their motivation to make you stay first rate.

Room Tip: You have no choice.

. Check-in went very smoothly. There is a pool on site and laundry facilities, however for any activities, we are directed to their sister timeshares in mid-town Sedona. Since we did not have children with us and were not interested in resort activities this was not a problem. If you are traveling with children, this might not be to your liking as they might get bored with just a small pool and spa. Signs indicate that children must be over 17 to be without an adult in the pool. We were there to hike and golf. There is a nice 9-hole par 3 golf course between the timeshares and hotel, so it was ideal. We could golf at any time without driving anywhere. The cost is reasonable and there is an all-day golf rate of $25.00 each that we took advantage of. We were able to go early in the morning and then again in the evening. Some days we golfed as many as 4 or 5 rounds!
The villa was very well stocked with all kitchen small appliances, dishes, etc. It is a very comfortable size for 2 people. The bedroom does not have full walls between the living room and bedroom, so if both of the televisions are on, this is a problem if they are on different channels, as the sound travels over the wall opening above the kitchen wall. Since we were out enjoying the beautiful mountains of Sedona, this was not much of a problem. The room is comfortable and our patio overlooked the Oak Creek. A very relaxing atmosphere. You will either get an Oak Creek View or a Golf Course View, both are lovely. There is a fireplace in the corner of the living room, but in the summer, it is too hot for that. The place was very clean and the bathrooms and kitchen looked updated with granite countertops. There is a nice picnic area with barbeque grills on site. The office staff was friendly and responded quickly with any questions or concerns.

Room Tip: Villa #320 has a patio overlooking Oak Creek.

My wife and I have stayed at this facility so often that we have become friends with the staff and management. We go there for the reason it is meant to be, for a vacation. Reading other reviews about the internet being slow and not conducting business, jeez, get a grip people. The idea is to relax, get away from the internet and all the bustle of life. I feed the squirrels, the Javalinas, the Hummingbirds, any and all nature that comes around for a handout. It is why I go there, to escape. If you want true relaxation and quiet here's the place, if you want hustle and bustle in your vacation, go to the Hyatt. Duane is the best and when Steve was down there I had fun joking back and forth with both of them. The Villas is like having a mountain cabin, somewhere to go and forget about the mess that life has thrown at you. I am truly renewed when I visit and it gets me through till the next visit. We try and visit twice a year and look forward to every trip. I highly recommend Villas at Poco Diablo to anyone that loves simplicity and nature.

Room Tip: I prefer the one bedrooms next to the creek.

Did a swap with II and enjoyed our stay. We like small, quiet and clean and that is what Villas at Poco Diablo in Sedona offers. We had a one bedroom unit with the creek at the back door and it was plenty of room for us. Our son and his wife visited for 2 days and slept on the pull out couch and said it was fine. The bedroom is open to the living room up above the walls because the walls do not go to the cathedral ceiling so if there is light or noise in the living area it affects the bedroom but we went to bed at the same time so it was not an issue. Good location between Bell rock and downtown Sedona. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

Duane-at front desk warmly greeted us on arrival. As we entered our "villa", we found it exceeded our expectations. It was recently, tastefully decorated. Really nice kitchen, fireplace and whirlpool tub big enough for 2. I think all the villas all have patio facing the stream which was lovely and so peaceful. We used the patio area overlooking stream to eat some of our lunches. Hung out at the pool some afternoons after hiking. Pool was so refreshing. We used the hot tub at pool. The pool and whirlpool have handicap access into pool. We saw hummingbirds at the feeders. The pillows were very uncomfortable. I hope they eventually change out those pillows. Both my husband and I had a hard time sleeping with them. The bed was fine. The grounds of Poco Diablo villas were kept clean and beautiful. Overall great value for money and we definitely recommend it and would stay again.

Room Tip: All these rooms are good at the Villas.
