“Doesn't get old”

Ranked #2 of 157 things to do in Sedona

Was better before ADOT 'improved' the road, but drive it round-trip daily and never tire of the views. Clear, sunny or clouds/rain, always different and special. If clear and sunny, shadows and time of day make each drive special, late afternoon colors are incredible; if rainy, may get lucky and see beautiful rainbow. Be sure to drive it both north and south and take time to stop at view points. DON'T STOP ON HIGHWAY TO TAKE PICTURES, use view points.

When traveling through Sedona you need to drive this. You pay five dollars for all of the stops in a day or $15 for the week. Many photo ops and trails. Come early to avoid the heat and bring water.

easy to get to; amazing to see. we drove in at sunset after having landed in Phoenix to start our trip. A great gateway to the Southwest.

Travelled there in early August 2013 from Flagstaff. The road to Sedona was as impressive as the scenic byway past the Red Rock mountains. Although impressive, it is hard to identify the various mountains. We ventured into the neighboorhood adjacent to the mountains and got some pretty good pictures

This is a drive. I'm usually more of a hike and go person, but this is a must see byway. Go at sunrise or sunset to get full value out of the incredible colors!
