No words to describe, you have to be there. Pictures will not give justice. if you drive by 179, roll down the window, turn the car stereo and just enjoy it. Stop to one of the parks and enjoy it further, have a leisure walk. "Stop and smell the roses " literally because you are on vacation.

“Oh Yeah!”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

Beautiful stretch of road, even of you have come in from the North on the 89A, make the effort to go down (and back up) the 179. The drive itself is spectacular but it also includes some really nice attractions right off it. The Chapel of the Holy Cross and Bell rock are musts!

“The most scenic drive”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

Staying in Oak creek Village we drove this route a number of times and it was always amazing. At any time of the day it was always different and there are plenty of places to stop and view the Red Rocks or go for a walk.
