“Excellent Accommodations for the Price”
Reviewed April 11, 2014

My dad and I stayed at the Star Motel for one evening after spending four days backpacking in the grand canyon. Like many of the reviews say, the rooms are basic, however they are clean and the beds are comfortable. Anne, the owner, is definitely the best part of the motel and she had excellent recommendations for massages, dinner, and breakfast. The location is great, it's within walking distance of all the shops throughout Uptown Sedona, and for the price, you can't beat it. I would stay at the Star Motel again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the Star Motel in their king room. It was a perfect fit for us and I don't think we would have asked for much more. The accommodations certainly aren't luxury, but they are clean and very well kept. The staff was helpful and friendly, our room was very clean and the price was certainly right. We would recommend to anyone looking for a basic, well kept hotel in the heart of Uptown to use as a home base for day hikes and in the evening the ability to walk though town to shop and eat.

I spent New Year Eve here and I was trying to figure out why I like this motel so much. And it's the owners Ann and Marcel always treat me like family. They are always so helpful to all their guests. I am just amazed when someone checks in, they are just like tour guides for Sedona. Of course they have been long term residents of Sedona. Ann's father bought the motel while he was on vacation! It's the oldest motel in Sedona, but it has been well kept. I have seen a number of improvements over the years. And the price and location is right. I have been staying here for over 10 years and I have never been disappointed.

we stayed here in October and loved it. My boyfriend and I were on our long planned vacation from Boston and had planned to do a road trip from Las Vegas to Utah and Arizona to tour several of the national parks and BAM!! the government shutdown squelched our plans .We rerouted ourselves and ended up in Sedona for a night along with every other tourist that couldn't see the Grand Canyon. After trying many places to find a room we just happened to see the Star Motel sign. We were met by Ann the owner at the front desk .She was a peach and from Boston area too!!!!. We got the last room. It was a steal!! Clean, roomy and location, location, location. We were able to walk all around town and boy probably saw one of the best sunsets ever.

For a solo adventure visit you can't beat the price, location or friendliness of Ann at the front desk. Don't expect luxury but it is a comfy enough place to lay your head down at night. Walking distance to so many places, it is a terrific location. Highly recommend if you are on a budget!

We stayed for four nights. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Lighting is a little dim and bathrooms basic. The upside is the central location in the middle of old Sedona. The staff are very friendly and helpful

This is my 2nd time staying with Anne (the owner) at The Star Motel....built in the 50's. This is a BASIC room...clean and functional. But, the location is perfect..you can walk to the Main Street to all restaurants and shops. You can't get lost as the tall STAR motel sign will show you where your home is. Rooms have refrigerator, hair dryer, TV and Wi-Fi. The price is great. You can pull your car up to your entry for ease in loading and unloading luggage. Patio chairs out in front of your room for a cold drink and just relaxing. Anne will make suggestions if you have any questions on where to eat, sightsee, or what to do. EXCELLENT choice.
