Owner description: The Sedona Heritage Museum presents the history of the Sedona area, from post-Civil War days to the present. Located in Jordan Historical Park, the Museum is composed of 3 historic landmark buildings, a tent house replica, and a restored movie set building; exhibits of pioneer mementos, farm equipment, historic photos, and more can be found throughout the buildings and along the pathways of the park. Besides an encounter with history, it's a great place for a picnic lunch. And the beauty of Sedona's red rocks makes it a perfect location for a wedding ceremony.

“Not your typical museum, walk through time to the days of old”

My wife made a short trip to the museum. It had been recommended to us by local stores. Small entry fee of $3.00 to travel back in time with a wide variety of local interests. I especially loved the one picture where the mother had loaned the kids money to help add on. Times haven't changed. Each room had a bit different focus to keep you interested and anxious to get to the next room. The voluteers, I love volunteers, were very nice and very helpful. We bought items in the gift shop and returned to the shop two days later for more. Highly recommend!!

“Nice little museum in a pretty location...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2009

This attraction is worth the visit if you have a bit of extra time. In the very front room of the museum there are interesting photos and brief histories about the early families of Sedona, and there are other interesting tidbits, stories and exhibits throughout the house.
There is also an apple sorting machine in the barn, and a restored carriage house. The gift shop has nice items that are well-priced too. The hours are limited though, so make sure it is open before you head up there.

“Great little attraction”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2009

The museum is the farm home of Walter and Ruth Jordan, early pioneers in Sedona.
The price was right ($3.00) and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They are volunteers who have lived in the area and are knowledgeable about the history and the people.
The house appears as it did 50 or 60 years ago including all the old labels on products that my parents and grandparents used to buy. Apples are grown in the area and the barn contains the equipment that was used on the farm many years ago. It was a nice trip back in time.
