“Beautiful. Comfortable. All the amenities and friendly staff.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

The hotel is a bit pricey with the resort fee and taxes, BUT if you can get one of the packages, it is well worth it!!! It was a beautiful property located in West Sedona (which we loved as it is a little bit away from the middle of the tourist trap of the main strip) and has all the amenities. We saw complaints about the location in other reviews, but disagree. It is centrally located and we were not bothered that it was surrounded by businesses, as Sedona is a busy place and we found this location quieter than staying on Hwy 89. The hotel was quiet. Lots of fountains and impeccable surroundings. We ate all our breakfasts there and a couple dinners with room service and were quite happy. The staff was friendly. The room was a nice size, but felt cozy. Had a comfortable bed, nice view, fireplace, and a great shower (I like having a bathtub so that was a bummer, but the hot tub made up for it). I had a massage at the spa by Rachel and she was fantastic! I'm picky about massages, so this is saying a lot.

The only issue we had was really with the other guests and Sedona Rouge's enforcement of the non-smoking policy. The hotel claims to be a non-smoking hotel, but this didn't seem to be the case according to the other guests. All three nights and our last morning there, we dealt with smoke coming into our room from other guest balconies. The last day we were there, we were actually woken up by smoke from another room at 6:00 am. I think the balconies need no smoking signs or the front desk needs to reiterate at check-in that the entire property is non-smoking, including decks and balconies. We don't want to be the smoking police, but we also don't want to inhale it either. We like to sleep with the sliding door or windows open for fresh air as hotel rooms can be stuffy, so this was a problem. We called down a couple of times, but it seemed to just pop up in another room after. That was quite disappointing.

We booked thru expedia, had no idea what to expect as it was our first experience with SRH&S and Expedia! SRH&S exceeded our expectations. We recieved a premium room with vaulted ceilings and fireplace. We enjoyed our stay so much that we chose to come back on our way thru a day later and stay. The bed was too comfy - LOL I fell a sleep within minutes of my head hitting the pillow. The shower is amazing and soap so wonderful.
Staff was incredibly helpful and even helped with a discount on our spontaneous decision to come back and stay an additional day. Close to amenities - Safeway and Starbucks for morning and hikes munchies. Don't pass up the opportunity to stay here!!!

Room Tip: Choose premium for the vaulted ceilings and fireplace or choose the view rooms in the back...either...

This was my first stay at the Sedona Rouge and my husband and I had a wonderful time! The room was very spacious, the grounds were impeccable, and the staff was fantastic. The resort was very close to many great restaurants and attractions. It was right around the corner from the Oak Creek Brewery and about 15 minutes from Page Springs winery. I really loved the amenities within the room - the coffee and tea were delicious and the shampoo/lotions smelled great. Reds was also a great place to grab breakfast (loved the Tofu Scramble) or just have a glass of wine at the end of the night (bartenders were very friendly and knowledgeable). Perfect place for a nice getaway!

We stayed at the Sedona Rouge for our first anniversary in July 2013. We booked one of the spa suites, and it was fabulous. The room was very large. It had a jacuzzi tub in the main living area and ample space. It didn't have a great view, but frosted windows covered up what would have otherwise been a view of the grocery store and parking lot. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was sizable, etc. Basically it was as great as a suite is expected to be. The staff is what makes this resort stand apart from others though. We mentioned in our online booking that we were celebrating an anniversary, and upon check-in we were told "happy anniversary" by the front desk staff, and champagne and chocolate covered strawberries awaited us in our room. They were unbelievably accommodating and polite. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone for a casual getaway or a couple celebrating an occasion.

Room Tip: The suites in the spa area were very quiet. We didn't hear another guest in there during our en...

This was my first time in Sedona. This hotel was nice and the rooms were comfy. We were not in our room much, or for that matter at the hotel, because we were out hiking or checking out the town. What I did like is that it is right across the street from a Safeway. We picked up breakfast there before we went out hiking(much cheaper than going out), and picked up snacks. Most of our hikes were out in this direction, so we didn't have to mess with a lot of traffic getting to our hiking points or getting back to the hotel. The hotel has a roof top deck that was nice to sit out on. The pool adequate(we only went there once during our stay) We didn't eat at the restaurant that was on site. It was nice to come back to the hotel and know there was a very comfortable bed waiting after a long day of hiking.

I stayed just one night and had gone for a top floor room with a lovely view and didn't regret paying extra. The rooms are around an open courtyard which gives it a bit of a motel feel but the room was very nice, breakfast great and room service dinner was prompt and good quality. There seems to be a few complaints about the resort fee of $19 but it was obvious to me when I booked so I didn't have an issue but a guy who was checking out when I did obviously did. Maybe best to do away with it and include it more directly in the price to avoid all the antagonism. The pool liked nice but I didn't use it. The spa was extremely good with great variety and quality of treatments. The location is central to town which I liked although I see other reviewers complaining - maybe they ought to do more research before booking? I got what I expected.

3 stars might be a little harsh...but is is compared to my expectation.

The room was adequate and the bed very comfy. However, I did expect more of a resort feel, and as others have written, this is a hotel on the corner of a busy street. Having said that, the benefit was it was close to many of the things we wanted to see/do.

The pool does not have bar service, which was a bummer as after our days of hiking we wanted to sit in the sun and be served! The roof top deck was nice - we went to Safeway next door to grab Starbucks coffee/food and then ate on the deck for breakfast. Nice.

All in all a good hotel and I would have rated higher if my expectations were that of just a regular hotel.

Room Tip: Our room was very dark - ask for same side as the roof top deck.
