My husband and I stayed for one night as part of a larger trip we took to celebrate our anniversary. We got a great deal on SniqueAway, and since I've never actually stayed in Sedona, figured that we'd give it a shot.

Yes, it's on a main road across from a Safeway. However, Sedona is not that big, so being on a main road is not like it is in a big city -- for us, it was no big deal. We stayed in a Deluxe Red Rocks room on the second floor with a nice view of the actual red rocks. The room was very nice and the staff had champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries waiting for us in the room when we arrived. No issues with check-in at all, and the front desk staff was very friendly. The room and bathroom were very clean and very quiet.

We were exhausted from a long, active day, so we chose to stay in and order room service for the night. We received it quickly and to our surprise, it was not expensive for what we ordered -- usually room service will take your money and your first-born, but it was reasonable and the food was very good. The bed was comfortable; in fact, it was so comfortable that we fell asleep with the lights and TV on. I also have to comment on the shower -- some reviewers have stated that it's odd and the water runs out from under the door into the bathroom. That is true, but we solved that problem by simply laying a rolled up towel down along the outside of the door. The shower itself, with it's dual shower heads (including a rainfall head), was fantastic and GIANT.

We walked to breakfast the next day, just a few doors down. Check-out was a breeze with no unexpected charges, and it was completed quickly. We would certainly stay at the Sedona Rouge again... and next time, I want to try one of the amazing spa treatments!

First the good - We purchased a weekend stay on Travelzoo so there was a great value in what we paid but I don’t know if I would pay their standard rates. From the time of reservation to check-out, we experienced great service. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The spa was nice and probably the highlight of the stay. My therapist was very good and the pricing was in line with the facilities, not too expensive.

The bed was super comfortable and the sheets were so crisp and clean they looked brand new.

Breakfast at the restaurant was good but try local restaurants nearby, Sedona has a nice selection of independently owned restaurants. Stay away from "A Pizza Heaven" down the street. Pizza had a pound of cheese on it and the prices were insulting. $30 for a large pizza + more kids and very noisy. Great for families but for us "A Pizza Hell".

The not so great - We had a hard time finding quiet. The hotel is located right on one of the busiest streets in Sedona and the view from our room was a pool of screaming kids with a Safeway neon sign in the background. If you do stay here, pay the extra for the red rock views and go on the top floor. The same screaming kids at the pool were also staying right above us.

The patios (or lack thereof) were disappointing. Very small and there was nowhere to sit. The showers are....odd. The room we had didn’t have a tub just a large industrial looking shower with an open door where the water constantly ran out. Strange set up.

Room Service only went to 9pm, was starving at 9:30pm and no options. Even the Safeway across the street shuts down early.

If you’re driving through Sedona with the kids and need a quick comfortable place to stay, this is a great option. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, head to Enchantment.

Have travelled to Sedona many times. We were looking forward to staying at this Hotel. The desk experience was cold and removed. The property is ok. I have seen better. Our room was great, we had the Deluxe corner Red Rock view. The room was the only positive. For the price, there are better hotels in Sedona that are worth it. Ate at Reds for dinner. The guacamole was spoiled. It actually made me ill. Reported it to the restaurant and it was barely acknowledged. Again, cold and removed staff. Overall I would not stay here again. Was not impressed.

The hotel is beautifully designed.

The beds and linens were deliciously cozy and comfortable.

The staff was gracious, friendly and willing to do whatever it took to make our stay a good one, including sending up champagne and cheese to help us celebrate my mother's birthday as a gift from the hotel.

The room was well appointed, quiet, with a view of the mountains.

The food in the restaurant was delicious, service excellent.

We also utilized the spa and enjoyed the services we had.

I would highly recommend this hotel. Though it is close to town, the way they designed it seems like it is off the road and remote. The fountains in the lobby, the way the public areas are designed, the staff, the room, the bed, the linens, even the soap in the bathroom which smelled delicious all contributed to a 5+ experience for us.

The Hotel was nicely arranged and as soon as we entered the Sedona Rouge the wow factor was very much what we hoped for, not over the top but just easy and comforting, very welcoming. The best part for us though was the clean and huge rooms along with the giant two shower bath along with all the little touches. Can't say enough about the twice a day room service which was unexpected prior to check in and must say that this service and other human touches are what made this one of the best hotel stays we have ever had. My wife asked for a discount for my surprise massage therapy and was granted a substantial discount other wise we would of went else where for this service but the spa and massage along with the steam room made the stay rewarding.

Room Tip: Our room faced the court yard on the third floor, we used the stairs more than the elevator as they...

We got reservations for this hotel through a discount coupon offer and weren't certain what we'd find. We were extremely happy with Sedona Rouge. It was clean, nicely appointed, and the bed linens exceptional (one of my main criteria!) We'll definitely go back and be happy to pay the non-discounted price.

Room Tip: Our room was on the main floor and it was wonderful to have a small patio with chairs for early-morn...
