The Blue Moon Cafe is located in the Village of Oak Creek, off Hwy 179 about 7 miles south of the "Y" intersection. It's right across the street from the Sedona Wildflower Inn, where we have always stayed when we're not camping in Sedona. We LOVE Blue Moon Cafe, and after a good day of hiking, we shower up and run across the street from our hotel, looking forward to flavorful food and warm service!
The food is delicious with a good variety of home-cooking, comfort food and diner-style favorites (breakfast, salads, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, etc.). They have the tastiest "home chips" that I fell in love with on our last trip in March. Never had any of their pizzas, but we see a lot of people order pizza. My favorite thing to order is the California Chicken sandwich with home chips. TAST-EEEE!!! (Download a pdf of their menu on their website! http://bluemooncafe.us/ )
Some of the coolest things about the restaurant, though, are the décor and ambiance-- there are pictures on the wall that show what that whole area used to look like before the town's development; old movie pictures of films that were shot in that area, things like that. It's one of those places with so much stuff on the walls to entertain you. They have witty books on the tables that you can pass the time with while waiting for your meal to arrive. One of Sedona’s most popular rock formations is less than a quarter mile up the road (Bell Rock). You can see it from the restaurant. The café is just a neat little place to grab a meal!
