Normally I don't expect much from restaurants in tourist areas but Sedona is just so darn charming I decided to take a chance. Taos Cantina was a very pleasant surprise. Located in the heart of the 'as touristy as it gets' Sedona shopping district, the restaurant has an amazing location with stunning views just outside the front door. The food and drink are not overshadowed by the location, though. The menu is fairly authentic Mexican cuisine. I had a prickly pear margarita (excellent, not too sweet and very flavorful) and the enchiladas with red sauce. The enchiladas were obviously made with quality ingredients. I could actually taste the chicken, tortillas, and sauce, unlike the bland crap smothered with cheap cheese and canned sauce served in many Mexican restaurants. If you like good Mexican food, give this place a try.

Ian's service and personality was great! The menu had excellent variety, and the outdoor seating provides great panoramic views of both the city and surrounding red rocks. Recommended!

We spent a week in Sedona, Arizona and tried various restaurants in upper Sedona. Taos Cantina was pretty good, but I was left a little disappointed when compared to other restaurants we where we dined. The server suggested the fajitas and expressed how outstanding this dish was. The fajitas were good, but nothing about them was extraordinary. I've had better. My friend ordered guacamole dip and chips. These, too, were ok, but not superb. Service was good, but we had to ask for plates once our food was served. Considering prices, service, and quality of food we chose not to dine at Taos Cantina again, but went to Oaxaca across the street. Taos Cantina does have a nice outdoor dining area.
