“Ok food, excellent staff”

Maybe we chose the wrong thing but the burritos were pretty boring. The menu wasn't huge and most meals contained meat or fish. But the server was really helpful and said that a veggie burrito could be done which it was and it was ok. I guess I expected a range of vegetables not just the peppers, onions and tomatoes that are standard with fajitas etc.
A bit disappointed.

“Make this a stop on your trip in Sedona”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2013

We chose to eat outside on a perfectly beautiful day in Sedona, although there was plenty of seating inside. Be aware that the portions are big enough for two people to share. We ordered chips, salsa and guacamole for the table of 4, and there was a lot left after we got done with our meal. Both couples shared entrees, and were full! The chimichangas and fajitas were awesome, more authentic than most we had eaten in the area. The prices are a bit high, but when you realize the portions feed two, you understand why.

“A great place to eat outdoors”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2013

We ate lunch here as we waited to take our jeep tour. The service was good, food arrived promptly and it was delicious. Our table was out front where we could enjoy the Sedona beauty and people watch. Our server gave us take out cups for our drinks which were too huge to finish, particularly for two young boys.

“Recommend this place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2013

We are Sedona natives. I will begin by stating that we ave avoided going to Taos Cantina because it is in Uptown (the tourist zone) which typically translates to mean that the food is overpriced and sub par. Taos Cantina does not fit this category. We will return.

We had the beef enchiladas and shrimp street tacos. Both were served with black beans and rice. The enchiladas (according to the person who ordered them) were perfection. The street tacos--served on a unique boat-shaped plate--were quite good.

As locals, we were given a 10% discount simply by telling the wait staff. Beware that a plate of three enchiladas is $17. Chips and salsa are extras. Even with our discount, the price for two dinners and ice tea was about $36.

We were at Taos Cantina on a Friday night. Although the place was packed, we were immediately seated. Our only complaint is that the noise level is super high. We were in the back dining room where a table of shrieking girls were having a celebration. The next time we go to Taos Cantina we will be sure to ask for a quieter table. Going during the week rather than on a weekend night might solve this problem for us.
