“Amazing place - stay here! We loved it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012

We stayed here several months ago, and I wanted to come back and write a review. I'll do pros/cons/tips.

PROS:
--------
The property is small and compact, it's gorgeous & well-maintained, and laid out perfectly for privacy. The villas are comfortable, unique and gorgeous! WE LOVED our room (the Twin Kyody Villa) and were taken aback at how perfect it was set up. It was clean and spacious and just so relaxing. The bed was phenomenally comfortable! We had a nice view from our patio with landscaping and partial view of red rocks. I enjoyed sitting out there with coffee watching the bright blue jay in "my" tree flit around. We also spotted quail, hummingbirds, and a bunny from our patio.

The pool and flowers and waterfall area are SO pretty and relaxing. Everything is maintained perfectly. There is free water when you need it. The kitchen/common area is so welcoming and fun -- there is a Keurig with tons of options, free cookies and candy, and a breadmaker in every room. It makes the room smell homey and cozy.

They are a classy place but also kid friendly!
Breakfast is delicious!

CONS:
--------
Not many cons at all!

But I do have to say that although the breadmaker in the room SMELLS really awesome, and it's a great concept, the bread itself is perhaps a bit lacking in the gourmet department. I mean, it's breadmaker bread, not fancy crispy French bread like you'd get in a gourmet restaurant. It has a thick crust that's too dark in places, it's hard to cut, the inside is collapsed in places and lumpy in others, and it makes crumbs all over the floor like you wouldn't believe. If you've ever made your own bread in a low-end breadmaker, you know what I'm talking about. Does it taste good? Sure! Is it easy to cut and serve? NO! Just be aware. :) The bread knife in our room was so dull and flimsy that we almost broke it trying to saw at the bread, and had to call the staff for another one. When they brought us the new one, we collapsed into laughter (after the person left) because it was the same quality (or worse) than the original. Finally we resorted to just ripping the bread apart with our hands and spreading jam/butter on it. Tasty, but messy. Still fun, though. And it's all about the fun. :)

I think the garbage had not been taken out of the kitchen one night, because the common area smelled like rotten meat. If you've ever left chicken parts in the trash can for a few days before taking it out, you know the smell. It made it unpleasant to breathe while I got my Keurig coffee and free cookies from the lobby/common area. Later on the smell was gone, of course! But it seemed that for such a fancy/expensive place, they should be 100% on top of stuff like that. A miss...but forgivable, since everything was generally so awesome there.

I think they should have a bellhop or staff help bring bags and suitcases to the rooms, because you have to walk up a little hill and then up stairs. For our family it was no problem! However, if you need help walking or find it hard to cart your bags around, you may need to request extra help. I think they should offer it without anyone needing to ask...that would complete the 5-star feel to this place. I know it's sort of a "bed and breakfast", but it's also a very expensive resort-y place too...and a little more enveloping care would be welcome.

I didn't find the on-site staff to be as totally awesome and friendly as some other reviewers gushed. I mean, they were NICE...they were FINE...but that was it. I didn't write home about it. :) They weren't so solicitous that they knocked my socks off. They were adequate.

TIPS:
--------
Don't cut yourself with the bread knife!
Ask for help if you need it with your bags...it may not be offered.
Take advantage of the yummy cookies and Keurig coffee in the common area.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Twin Kyody. There was a partial view of red rocks from our balcony. We liked our vi...

We had a great experience at the Adobe Grand. We stayed in The Timbers and could not have been happier with our villa and its charming surroundings. It was beautiful and romantic--a perfect get away for us. Kellie was great and got us anything we needed, and Michael will make anything you could possibly want for breakfast and created some delicious desserts. There were very loud children taking up the pool for a couple of hours one afternoon and we could hear them even with the air conditioning on in our room, but no complaints beyond that. We will definitely come back and would highly recommend.

Room Tip: We stayed in The Timbers and loved it.

This was my husband's and my third visit to Sedona, first at Adobe Grand. It is difficult to find the right words to describe our experience - perfect would be a good way to start! When we were brought to our beautiful room at Sagebrush, we were left speechless. Such decor, such warmth and attention to detail - we're still talking about the way the water spills from pottery in the shower. What a special touch and one we already miss! The fresh bread, the fireplaces, soft towels, total comfort throughout - if you never left your room, you'd still be treated to a beautiful experience in Sedona.
Regarding staff, we were treated to fabulous breakfasts by Jacqueline. She is a real gem - not only are her abiliities in the kitchen to be recognized but she is warm and sweet and always ready to spoil you. The cleaning service was impeccable, always a brilliant job, always perfect. A nice touch was having the bed turned down late in the day. We very much enjoyed our "adopted son" Eduardo, making sure we always had everything we needed at breakfast and really any time of day. He was always at the ready with a great smile and we appreciated all that he did for us. He was assisting someone in some way every time we saw him.
To end, there is nothing that could have been improved upon at Adobe Grand. We look forward to a return visit in the future. :)

The service here was excellent. The quick witted Jacqueline and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. I looked forward to a very tasty and satisfying breakfast every morning. My wife and I both noticed that after eating breakfast here we would not be hungry until early evening. They also served up fresh baked cookies or sometimes fruit every afternoon. In laws are already looking at staying here and we will stay here again the next time we visit Sedona.

This was a family trip to Sedona for the first time. We made reservations based upon reviews on tripadvisor, and were not disappointed. The staff was outstanding, don't know how they could improve. The rooms were the best we have ever seen, the photos don't do them justice. We stayed one night in the Tuscany Suite and it was perfect. The next two nights were in the Wagon Wheel Suite which is wonderful. Nothing has been overlooked in the rooms. There was fresh bread upon walking in, snacks were plentiful. Breakfasts in the morning were excellent. If you didn't like the breakfast that was featured, it was no problem getting an alternative. They worked hard to please our pickiest daughter's taste.
We highly recommend this resort and will be back again.

This was my husband and my first trip to Sedona. One of the most beautiful places on earth. We have traveled all over the world and stayed in some extremely nice places. This is one of our favorite of all time. It is amazing from the minute you get there. When you check in and are brought to your room, they have a loaf of fresh bread that they'd made in your very own bread machine. This is made every day for you. They have fresh lemonade and snacks set out, pastries a little later towards evening that are amazing. The rooms are hard to describe. They all have a different themes and down to the tiniest detail, everything is set to that particular theme. My husband and I stayed in the Whispering Pines Villa and have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Everything was perfect. There is a huge bath tub and an enormous shower where the water comes out like a waterfall from rocks. Beautiful! These are more like suites. There are two fireplaces in each room with huge bathrooms and very very comfortable beds. We loved it. Every morning they serve you breakfast, which is healthy, gourmet, delicious and very filling. Fresh juice is served too. The staff?, Wonderful!!! I've have never stayed anywhere where the entire staff is so friendly and goes out of their way to get you anything you desire with a smile. We were fortunately lucky enough to get Gabe to show us some of the vacant rooms after the weekend when guest had checked out. They were all fantastic. Love them! We will be back. We've decided to spend our anniversary in Sedona every year and stay at the Adobe Grand Villas. Can't wait till next year!!!

Room Tip: The website has some really good pictures of the rooms although they don't come close to showing...
