“Credible Meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2014 via mobile

We were drawn to Rene's by the inviting lunch aroma and were not disappointed. I had the Kobe Burger and my wife had the chicken salad. The real delight was the chocolate pecan pie. Jim our server was a gem. He constantly checked with us and made suggestions on how we might want our food prepared. The only negative was the hostess eating lunch while we waited. However, the bar tender immediately stepped in to seat us.

“Good food, wonderful ambiance!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2014

We decided on a busy Saturday afternoon to try to get a reservation for Rene's the same night!- We were so lucky to get in- although we had to wait a few minutes for our table, we sat at the bar and had a well made cocktail. The live instrumental music in the background was at a perfect sound level and added to the atmosphere.
We were seated side by side at a small booth towards the back- we had assumed with our last minute reservation we'd get a lousy table- but no- it was delightful.
The service was excellent- attentive but not annoyingly so- and the food was delicious- my husband raved about the duck; my mushroom strudel was good, not great- its is seldom that I get great vegetarian dishes at a restaurant that does not specialize in that.
We would definitely go back.

Delightful lunch! Salmon was perfect, cheese plate precisely balanced, mushroom strudel flaky & flavorful. Prompt service. We will be back. Menu so tasty, we all had difficulty picking an entree!

As it was Christmas night, they had a special holiday menu. The service was impeccable, and the food delicious.

“Well Done Old School”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2014

We were tired of steak house fare in Phoenix so during our trip to Sedona we noticed this French restaurant. Sometimes it's just good to have tablecloths and decent service. The standards of escargots and onion soup were very good, just the old school way of doing them. Only complaint about the soup is a bit too much cheese and too few onions. Our entrees were also expertly done -- grilled scallops and duck. And although we eyed the crepes suzettes, we didn't have room.
Good meal, nice ambiance, excellent service and we'd visit again.
