did this with pink jeeps and it was fun....judging by the squeal response from the young kids. and nice for adults with good views from places you dont get to easily by other means.

My husband and I practically jogged this trail early one morning. It brings you to a lovely look out with really nice views. The pink jeeps take people up here, but we didn't see much of them...

We rented a Jeep for a day from Barlow's and they recommended this trail (with a practice run at Soldier Pass first). It was great - loved Submarine Rock and all the views!

This was the first trail we did on a monday morning. Only encounted one other jeep, Pink Jeep Tour. A nice challenging trail as you drive up and onto large boulders. Walked onto Submarine Rock. Views at Chicken Point were beautiful and scary at same time. The stairs were neat to go down. Pictures don't do it justice.

So a Jeep may not be "required", but locals said even Jeeps need a 3" lift to traverse some of this trail. The scenery is amazing itself, but if you consider half the adventure is getting there, this trail won't disappoint. 35-40 degree slopes for ascending and descending, plus lots of rock outcroppings for you to play on make it a thrilling trail to drive. The trail is Jeep wide, and not much more. There was quite a bit of traffic and activity back there, both Jeep and pedestrian, as well as LOTS of mountain bikes. Go slow and watch for people. You absolutely cannot do this trail in a car so don't even try. They have a "speed bump" at the start of the trail that would stop most cars anyway. I don't even think a Subaru could make it back here. My 2 year old son was clapping and cheering for some of the more adventuresome parts of the trail. There is some great scenery back here too, so both the trail and the scenery will impress. If you don't want to rent a Jeep, Pink Jeep Tours introduced us to the trail and will really demonstrate what a Jeep can do.
