If you have a high clearance vehicle and plenty of time, every twist and elevation change provides new views of the mountains and valley features that make a camera or video necessary.

If your driving that road from Sedona you must use a 4x4, by the time you arrive and dislodge your kidney from your throat you will be rewarded with an amazing view, Slow and very bumpy, some shear drops, the only bummer is all the damn tourist jeeps. You can approach it from the top via I17 at Schenbly Rd. exit. A much easier and accessible trip.

easy drive, outstanding views, hikes are interesting, no votexes so not too wierd. Wear decent shoes and the fun is all yours.

Schnebley Hill is named for Sedona Schnebley who Sedona is named after. The road connects Sedona to 1-17. While this review is (primarily) about the vista) I highly recommend taking the full tour of the road. Start at I-17, Schnebley Hill Road. You begin with beautiful national forest, high desert grassland, and quiet ranches, then you approach the red rocks, and the road gets QUITE rough (HIGH CLEARANCE) but the views get more and more spectacular. The high pines, high desert grasslands, then the red rocks, makes this an unforgettable trip.
Again high clearance is a must, this is not a trip for someone who cannot take bumpy roads.
