“Drive at sunset”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

We have an old RAV4, not 4-wheel drive, and we were able to make it quite a distance, about 5 miles. Only turned around because the sun was setting. Stunning and fun!!

“Beautiful views”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

Go up this road for outstanding views of Sedona and the red rocks. Takes you up aprox 2500 ft in altitude and after a short hike you are able to stand atop some rocks overlooking a steep cliff. Great photo op. The road up is very rocky and bumpy. We rented a Tom-Car (2 person ATV) and had a blast flying up this road, but was passed many in cars having a difficult and slow time with the terrain. Highly recommend renting an ATV for this trip.

“One of Elvis Presley's Favorite Spots!”

Schnebly Hill Road is a great place to explore. Normally a very rough bumpy road, not for most cars. It's an old road to Flagstaff. Don't forget your camera!

“Get off the pavement and see the real Sedona!”
Reviewed February 1, 2013 via mobile

Schnebly Hill road is a great adventure that takes you back into areas you cannot see from the highways in Sedona. During the winter the road is closed once it gets into high elevation, but during the summer you can drive it all the way to the 17. If you have a 4WD you should be fine, we took our RAV4 the last time and had no issues. You will get dirty looks from the jeep folks as they believe they own the road, but they don't, so enjoy the ride and the sights to be seen. Get off the beaten path and see the Sedona the way Sedona Schnebly would of wanted you to!

“Bumpy....but beautiful.”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

Go up on a nice, sunny day. Take a high-clearance vehicle. Vistas galore!!! Drive up to a small pull-out on the right. Take a short stroll out to the Cowpies on the left side of the road. Walk out to the end of the slick-rock areas.......your jaw will drop. There may be some water in the slick-rock tanques (pools)....reflecting the red rock cliffs. Makes an incredible picture.
