We stayed at the Red Agave Resort for four days in February and it was one of the most enjoyable places I have ever been. Totally quiet and peaceful. The courtyard was beautiful. Every room had a magnificent view of Bell Rock and surrounding red rock formations. Hiking trails were within a few blocks. The small community of Oak Creek had a variety of cute restaurants to choose from. Each room had a kitchenette. The bed was soft and comfy, and the hot tub was magnificent on a starry February night. All in all, I'd go there again!

I had an occassion to stay in a 2 bedroom Chalet at Red Agave Resort. What a wonderful experience! They just put in new beds and they were more comfortable than any other resort I have stayed at. This place has location, location, location. Nothing is betwee the resort and the National Park overlooking Bell Rock. It is spectacular! Nothing beats it. The units are comfortable not luxurious. Everything you need is provided so if you want to make meals you can. A big fire is built each night in the fire pit. What better way to end a day of hiking? Jackie Sathre

We stumbled upon this jewel of a resort last year (2009) for the 4th of July. New owners were just taking control. Based upon that experience, we have visited the resort an additional five times with five different sets of friends - in six months!

What was special? First: Location - the property is on the northerly outskirts of the Village of Oak Creek. Stated another way, the front door to most of the chalets faces the State Park: stunning views which include Quail Ridge, Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. Walk 30 yards, exit through a gate and you are on a magnificent hiking/biking trail that will take you all of the way to Red Rock Crossing. Stunning!

Walk across Highway 179 and you can access a series of trails that will take you around Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte - a stunning and easy 5 mile hike. Make sure to bring your camera. Feeling stronger?

Second: Location - The Village of Oak Creek has some fabulous restaurants - all within one mile of the resort. Like to golf? The Oak Creek Country Club (open to the public) is one of the most beautiful courses in Arizona. Adjacent to that is the Sedona Golf Resort - with it's own stunning holes.

Third: Ambiance - The staff (and the owners that we have met) are all extremely friendly and professional. There is a pool and spa on site (to rest your weary muscles after golf or those hikes). Three of the weekends that we have been there, they have had live music, using a stage that backs up to the State Park - surreal. Most (if not all) of the rooms have gas grills. There is a firepit in operation, where we have met other guests while enjoying smores, after-dinner cocktails, the occasional acoustic guitar and phenomenal sunsets.

Honestly, I have been to many resorts in many cities, states and countries. I have never written to Trip Advisor - though I use it frequently for planning. I can't say enough positive things about the Red Agave and their staff.

We absolutely loved our 3 night stay at the resort-- Elizabeth and her staff took such good care of us! They really go out of their way to make sure that you have a great time and don't miss out on any local activities. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and stocked with everything you need for cooking your own meals! The location could not be better-- fantastic hiking and biking from right outside your door, close to Sedona, but with a more secluded and relaxing feel to it. Our favorite part was the nightly bonfire-- so much fun!! A perfect way to end the day, and we made some great friends! I highly recommend staying here-- you won't be disappointed!

Red Agave Resort is located right in front of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. The view from the hotel room is incredible. I think it's the best view among all the Sedona hotels. Price is very reasonable. You can use their BBQ grill. They have campfire everynight. Their garden is very lovely. There are two jacuzzi spas in pool area outside which I used everyday. Nice hiking trail starts right in front of the hotel. You can see the milkiy way at night if there's no moonlight shinning bright. Room decor can be improved I think. This place may be the best kept secret among all Sedona area hotels. Also, restaurants, shops and supermarket is in walking distance. No daily room service, but I like it that way.
