“Best spot to bike from and relax after a days ride”

Had a fantastic time at the Red Agave. Rooms clean and quiet
Kitchen was just large enough for the two of us
Relaxing in the spa after a long ride
Sitting by the outdoor firepit at night was awesome
Could ride bike from the room right to the trail in 50 meters

Very small resort and very quiet so you gotta like the Zen type setting

Room Tip: Ironwood room looking north has direct view from the bed to Bell Rock So it is the first thing you...

Stayed here the first week of November 2012. Weather was spectacular. The views from your back porch are world class. I can't say anything more positive that hasn't already been said within the reviews here, and I have nothing negative to say about our stay. The grounds, rooms, and hosts were all great. My wife and I came here to mountain bike, and bike we did...right out of back door! Excellent trails abound, however I will admit there are some challenging climbs...especially for us Florida flat-landers. Definitely for the intermediate to advanced rider. We rented our bikes from the Bike and Bean shop just a 5 minute walk from the Red Agave (and they're awesome too!!). Great for kids too, with excellent hiking right out back, a nice pool and two hot spas.

I couldn't have imagined a better place for a "girls getaway"!! Red Agave had everything you could ask for! The setting is gorgeous, staff very friendly, and atmosphere overall perfect! We stayed in a Chalet, and even despite only having one bathroom for 5 girls, it was still very comfortable and accommodating for all of us! We enjoyed the hike behind our chalet, and the hot tubs especially! Also - the smore's were a huge hit!

This place was wonderful. We had a girls wkend (5 of us), so more than one bathroom would have been nice, but the rest of the accomodations were perfect for us. It's got beautiful scenery and trails for hiking/biking/running right at the back of the property for people that still wanna get their fitness in (there is not a gym/fitness center). The staff was all so welcoming and friendly. It was a great place to stay for something more than a simple hotel room. We were very pleased. :) Thank you, RED AGAVE for being such a cool place!

First, let's get some facts straight - the title says resort which may lead some people to have false hope for five star luxury and valet parking. While it is a resort, it's not THAT kind of place... Maybe it should be renamed Red Agave Oasis or something along those lines. Let's focus on what it is.

Red Agave is a relaxed set of A-frame structures nestled in the trees and rooms with kitchenettes that face out to spectacular scenery. There are grills available as well as a pool plus two hot tubs all just outside your room. The A-frame structures seem roomy but we stayed in the regular rooms that face Bell Rock. The room was just what we needed. Plenty of room for our gear, a refrigerator, a stove and a toaster that set off the smoke alarm when we used it. (we figured out it all we had to do was reposition the toaster and it solved the problem.) The bed was adequate (full size) and comfy enough. We also had a nice little table in the room and outside, there are chairs and tables so you can enjoy your coffee watching the sunrise or sip some wine under the stars.

If you like to hike or mountain bike, this place is paradise! Trails are feet away from your door. Bike racks abound and a bike shop is across the street if you need service (or a rental). After a day of exploring, the pool and hot tubs are a welcome sight and the atmosphere is laid-back and friendly. A fire-pit is maintained by the staff and there are even smores for the kids (and hungry adults!) The biggest treat of all is the beauty of the surroundings. Stars fill the night sky. The sunrises are magnificent and the trails are unique. The red rock formations are iconic. It's quiet, peaceful and it feels magical.

We loved our trip and stay at the Red Agave and plan to return here soon. It was worth every penny. Two of the three photos I included were taken one the property during our stay.

I would highly recommend Red Agave. The chalet was more perfect for the girl's getaway. Perfect views all the way around, and have hiking trails that start right at the resort. The staff members are so nice and treat you like family. The fire pit was amazing, and was the perfect place for 5 girls to sit around, make smores, and drink some wine

Room Tip: The chalet is the perfect place for 5 people to stay

This place is amazing. Location in Oak Creek, south of Sedona.
We arrived mid afternoon and were made very welcome. All the chalets are around a grassed area, with swimming pool, hot tubs, gas bbq's and numerous chairs and tables. The chalet adequately accommodated 4 adults and one child, although more than 1 bathroom would have been beneficial. The kitchen was well stocked and after a visit to the local supermarket, we were able to bbq, whilst taking in the amazing sunset over Bell Rock.
The pool is close enough to watch children, whilst sitting relaxing, and there was a good community spirit during our stay.
We hired bikes from the Bean and Bike shop, and took advantage of the many trails in the area.
A great place to stay, highly recommended.
