just returned from a stay at the new Kimpton property in Sedona AZ. A very nice property that Kimpton has just recently acquired and reopened. It is located in the Uptown section of Sedona but down the hill next to Oak Creek and so relatively secluded despite being right in the main tourist part of Sedona. Great views of Sedona red rocks from the patio/pool and some rooms. Not a very large property so not that many rooms (only 2 story building) in a U shape with creek at the bottom of the property (which you can walk down to and along, very pleasant). The restaurant was good and a nice little bar area. Music most nights in the bar or out on the patio for dinner, drinks. Kimpton has just taken over and so the famous great treatment by the staff, etc., there are some kinks to work out with the rooms, pool, etc., but overall a good Kimpton experience and a very nice little property, easy walk up the hill to many restaurants, etc., but also many are touristy so beware, study the reviews from others first. Over in West Sedona, lost of good choices as well.

Room Tip: room on the 2nd floor with view of the pool area will also likely get you a great view of the red ro...

Stayed here for our anniversary. We LOVE Kimptons! They were great about our room, surprised us with champagne to make it special. The view at the pool is great, but the pool area can feel crowded if there are many people there. It is a bit small and only has 3 cabanas. But overall a very nice property with most of the kimpton extras you can expect.

We could tell they were in transition because: there was no bar service at the pool, the workout room seemed to still serve a catering function and we called the desk for a few items we forgot but they never arrive. Regardless, I recommend it as the rooms and setting are great and I have full faith in Kimpton to get this property up to speed in no time.

Room Tip: Get one that is not right beside the pool.

We (2 friends in our 20s) enjoyed a 1-night stay at the Amara Resort and Spa and took advantage of all of the wonderful things they have to offer -- free wine and sangria for cocktail hour, a beautiful pool overlooking the red rocks, a quick and friendly valet car service, and wonderful reflexology at the spa (complete with a FourSquare check-in special). It is in a perfect location (near Pink Jeep tours, great dining, etc.) The room key was a little finicky, but that was the only minor issue. We will be back!!

We got a great deal on this place and it was worth way more than what we paid. I would say it is worth $200-$250/night.

Room was a bit small, but you don't spend much time there. The pool was amazing and the hot tub was great for recovering from the hikes we discovered.

The hotel includes valet parking and they serve complimentary wine from 5-6pm every night. Woohoo!!!

Located in the heart of old downtown Sedona, you have to walk up a short hill to the street. This was great for exploring the shops.

We loved this place and would certainly stay again!!!!

I visited with my son and grandchild and dog. Amara is a Kimpton hotel known for pet friendly luxury boutique chain. The property hidden off the main road is tranquil. Pool, jacuzzi and restaurant look onto beautiful red rocks of Sedona..day or night especially beautiful with the moon.and sounds of waterfalls. Local creeks provide private lunch spots and trails or take a short drive to a ghost town or place of ancient ruins. This property gives the perfect place to relax before and after your ventures exploring this beautiful and mystical place.

This hotel has a lot to offer --Clean comfortable stylish rooms, beds are very comfortable. It has great entertainment and spectacular views.

The front desk needs a course in PR...could be friendlier and warmer to arriving guests. But we'd stay again!

I've become quite a fan of Klimpton hotel chain, as I've had a number of business meetings across the US. So, when planning a trip with the family, I naturally picked this hotel. It is located in the heart of downtown Sedona where all the touristy shops are located; however, it is a driveway down to the resort, so you feel removed from the hustle and bustle of the town. Friendly valets greet you and park your car for free. Staff is friendly and helpful. I asked for a special room since it was a family vacation, and they provided just what I asked for, along with a card from the staff wishing us a wonderful stay.

Rooms were comfortable, and the bed was fantastic! My wife is fairly picky when it comes to beds, and she was highly complimentary of this one. Loved that the A/C fan would keep the room as cold as we wanted it. Nice balcony overlooking the pool and grounds was a great place to enjoy the starts, the rock formations, and some wine.

The salt water infinity pool was very relaxing. Not one for doing laps, but excellent to just paddle around and relax.

Did I mention that there's free wine from 5-6 pm every night? I enjoyed the pinot noir that was served.

I'd highly recommend this hotel, and plan to return on my next trip to Sedona.
