“A MUST SEE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2013

This was our favorite spot in all of Sedona, AZ. The energy felt here is unreal and was a great place to relax and sit along the edge of the mesa. When we were there on a Monday evening (around sunset), there was barely anyone around us. There was plenty of parking and it was still quiet so we could just enjoy the sounds of nature. It is a must see if you are in Sedona, and don't forget to soak in all the positive vibes that emit from this place. We will def. be back!

“Too crowded. Don't bother.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2013

As most of the reviewers recommended, we went to Airport Mesa in the evening in hopes of seeing a sunset. Too bad many hundreds of other people had the same idea. The parking lot is huge, and tour buses let out scores of people at a time. BAD IDEA. We couldn't get up to the railings for pictures because there were so many people and dogs. Plus, this vantage point is not good for photos anyway. The overlook faces the setting sun, so all the rock formations are backlit---i.e., dark. Very disappointing. If you go in search of the vortex, don't go at sunset. It's just a madhouse.

“Fly into this airport for the best views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2013

We fly a small plane in and there is no better way to begin your trip to Sedona than this. It's like going to Oz - miles of nothing and then, this amazing burst of color. That being said, most will not, so the hike around the mesa is probably the next best thing. When we did it, it was somewhat slippery and a bit dangerous - some of the trail is slanted downwards and made me nervous. So when you start to take your pix, make sure you have a good solid stance. It's a long way down.

This is one the easiest points to have a vantage of a large swath of Sedona so it is a must-do. But get there early. There is very little parking and the New Age gatherings can fill it pretty fast.

“Beautiful views”

Great place to get an overview of the Sedona area. Wonderful vistas of some of the most famous red rock formations. Parking is free and plentiful.

“Amazing sunset”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013

This is a popular tourist spot, so be sure to arrive early to get a parking place. The red rocks were bright and so beautiful as the sun set. The view is amazing, and I will always treasure the beauty of Sedona, and the sunset from this point.
