“Great location with good accommodations at a reasonable price”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

This hotel is located in a great spot in Sedona. The rooms were relatively "low key" (average for a motel, but clean and nicely appointed). I will say we were in one room as a family of four, and we all much prefer a queen size bed to share, but the beds are double beds as stated on their site. That said, the beds were a bit small for us so the sleeping experience was not as comfortable as I'd have liked. The rooms had a nice balcony though and the A/C worked great. The pool was nice enough, and honestly, the room was really only where we were to sleep -- we were out almost all the time other than that. If you were looking for a romantic hotel to spend time in, I might suggest something else. Staff was very helpful -- in fact they were great. I'd stay here again, but maybe perhaps not with four people in one room.

Although we do not offer Queen size beds, we try our best to offer cozy accommodations in a wonderful location in Uptown Sedona. We also offer roll-away beds if needed. We are so glad to hear our staff was so helpful to you during your stay. We are happy to know you would stay with us again, and we hope to see you on your next Sedona visit.

I had made a reservation at another hotel but it was not in the area I wanted to stay. I called the Matterhorn Inn and was able to get a room for the 2 nights and what a great little hotel. Rooms are clean, comfortable and have great views. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. I will stay at the Matterhorn Inn every time I go to Sedona and will recommend to everyone planning a trip there.

With no room booked ahead in Sedona, we were able to call from the road and get a fairly large king room for about $140. While we spent little time in the room except to sleep, it really was a great location. There's a large parking lot behind the motel, and since every room has a similar view, we were happy to throw open the curtains and feast our eyes on the red rocks. It was a quick stroll into town for a meal, so for our time in Sedona, Matterhorn Inn was a good choice. No breakfast or other amenities except a small pool, but in room 130 we were at the far end of the floor with no one on the left side.

This was my second stay at the Matterhorn Inn, and I love it so much I am staying again in September 2013! The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The location is the best - you are right next door to the shops and restaurants, but don't get any street noise. The views are mind blowing. The beds are comfortable. The furnishings are in good condition and comfortable. I find the bathrooms a little small but I'd rather have a smaller bathroom than a smaller bedroom area. I have always stayed on the top floor and have had no problems with noisy neighbours. It can be a pain lugging your luggage up the stairs but for me that was only a minor inconvenience. I didn't use the pool but I did use the hot tub and that was wonderful, especially since it was a cold night! There is a computer near the front desk that guests can use for free. I plan on having many more trips to Sedona in the future and will definitely be staying here each time.

Dear ozziegirlz,
Thank you for your kind feedback—our staff is glad to hear you had such a wonderful time with us. We are happy to know that the service from our staff exceeded your expectations. We are always willing to give recommendations and tips for visitors, as well as answer any questions you may have. We are glad you took advantage of our Jacuzzi during your stay. It is a great way to relax after the sun has set. Although we do not have an elevator, our staff is aware that guests may need an extra hand with their luggage from time to time. If you are ever in need of assistance, our front desk staff will aid you immediately. We look forward to seeing you again in September—the weather is perfect in autumn and it is a wonderful time of year to visit.
Best wishes

Overrated on trip-advisor. I booked this Inn base on its review. To my experience. Do not read the high rating review, read the poor one, it will give you the fact.
Spent over $350 on 2 rooms was wasted. Nothing fancy, old, outdated inn, dirty linen, dirty carpet, dirty ice box, old bathtub and toilet. No parking assigned for over $150/room/night. There is limited parking. You have to haul your luggage from distance if you all parking is taken. Good luck to folk that is handicraft. When complained to front desk about the parking. I got the answered "Oh, Well". Blonde, female lady in front desk was totally rude. No need to stay Uptown of Sedona. It is tourist trap. Stay away. It is only 5'-15' drive from lots of places are nicer and cheaper. Butterfly Inn is the best. Sky Ranch is the great place to watch sunset or sun rise. Enchantment is beautiful, but way too expensive, just for spending the night, unless you are rich. Lodging is so expensive in Sedona, one day is quite enough to see red rocks. Where-ever you go around Sedona, there is red rock. Rancher at the park was not every friendly. If lodging was reasonable, my family would spend more time in Sedona. It is not worth the money, just to see the red rock.

We went online to book this hotel after inquiring into several around town on our way up to the Grand Canyon. We stayed 2 nights with a balcony room overlooking the Red Rocks. Even though we were on main street, it was quiet. Very clean. Staff was friendly and very courteous. I definitely recommend this hotel. It is very centrally located to good restaurants and shopping.
