“It was ALL good for us!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2007

Our family of 4 visited Sedona Springs during Spring Break, and it was a great base for exploring the area. The 1 bedroom unit (which also had a loft) was very spacious, and would easily have accommodated 5 or 6 people. The kitchen was large and well-equipped, and we loved eating breakfast in our unit or on the balcony in good weather. Several good restaurants were within walking distance. BBQ grils were available.

While the furnishings and decor were not stark modern (the wood furniture is light colored, and the colors are Southwest rather than whatever is stylish at this minute), everything was in great shape and CLEAN. I'm picky about cleanliness and decor, but I'm getting tired of seeing the same trendy dark furniture in so many places. We liked the light and airy feeling of this decor--it went well with the desert and red rock environment.

The grounds are perfect for relaxation, with a pool and 3 hot tubs. Plenty of activities are available (crafts, music, lectures, fitness, movies), and of course many tours and hikes available nearby. The staff helped us choose activities. Other reviewers must have hit them on a bad day, because we found them great.

This was one of the most enjoyable vacation weeks we've spent, and we will return to this resort next time.

We checked into a studio on Oct 28. There was no restaurant, no room service, no one -time mid week room cleaning, furnishings dated back to the early 80's, gold was peeling off bathroom fixtures, shower curtains were mildewed, ceramic inside of the toilet was chipped (giving the elusion of an unflushed toilet), concierge office closed Fri-Sat (check in days) , parking permit were a waste of my time and a joke since I was never able to park near my room. Office does not open early, so if you're taking a tour, you'll have to wait outside for the shuttle. We checked out 2 days early and I definitely will not stay at Sedona Springs again. I was told this is a gold crown resort and it probably was in 1980.
On a good note, the room was clean.

  • Liked — private plane- helicopter- railroad -poontoon tours of grand canyon. Also hot air balloon tour
  • Disliked — everything dated back to the 80's.....including the VCR, there was no DVD player and the smell of the mildewed shower curtains
  • Tips/Secrets — Shop around for another place to stay.

Our stay at Sedona Springs Resort was excellent. We had a two bedroom with a loft and it was so roomy and very nicely decorated. The second bedroom was actually located in a separate "apartment-type" setting, which allowed our son to have his own room, kitchen and sitting area. The loft was a lovely place to watch the sunrise and we really enjoyed the roominess of the unit. All appliances worked as they should and they provided ample supply of cleaning supplies. Since it was early November, the outdoor pools were not heated, but the indoor one was in use constantly. They had a nice game room for kids and the grounds were beautiful and created a nice place to sit and read. The only two drawbacks were that the whirlpool tub in the unit took about 15 minutes to fill up and was not very comfortable for an adult. And, the laundry area was not in the unit, but in a laundry facility shared by SSR and another resort on the same property. But, that didn't stop us from having a wonderful vacation. Some quick tips - Coffee Pot Restaurant is wonderful for breakfast and the Red Planet great for a quick dinner. And, be sure to check out the sunset on the Airport Mesa, it's a beautiful spot (but can be chilly in the autumn months). Enjoy your visit -- we did and would love to go back some day!!

We arrived at the resort on August 5th, 2006, very late. We called ahead to notify the resort and the check in proceedure was explained thoroughly. The units were beautiful, very clean, well stocked with linens, blankets, towels, dishes and cooking utensils. The grounds were well kept, the staff very helpful with everything from dinner reservations to directions. My family of teenagers and toddlers were very happy with the accomodations. We will return to this resort again!

We stayed in this time share rental during the month of June 16-20. It was very clean and spacious for a family of five. We stayed in a 1 bedroom loft. The master bedroom was large with a king bed and balcony. The other area on the upper floor had a pull out couch, and the lower area had a pullout that the kids were comfortable with. The pool was clean and the indodor activities and organized craft area was great! The gym area was also adequate. I also liked the fact it had a laundry mat facility.
We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I and our 3 children (twins aged 7 and a 10-yr-old) stayed at Sedona Springs Resort for five nights, and it was the perfect home base from which to explore this beautiful area. I had reserved a 1-bedroom loft townhouse with huge master suite, 2 pull-out queen sleeper sofas, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, 2 TV's and gas fireplace ---it was even nicer than I expected, and a terrific value at $131/night. It was meticulously clean, offered plenty of space, and had a kitchen (fully stocked with utensils, dishes, glasses, cookware) with diswasher so it was easy to have some relaxing family meals there (nice after a long day of hiking!).

Other things we enjoyed:
-2 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool, game room with ping pong and other games, playground
-Newly remodeled Safeway nearby that offered a great selection of food and wine
- Picazzo's Pizza within walking distance
-Very helpful staff at front desk
-Daily arts & crafts activities for kids, evening talks, musical performances

It does cost extra if you desire daily housekeeping, but we had no extra charges on checkout as long as you leave your place reasonably clean (e.g.dishes,glasses,utensils clean and back in appropriate place).

Staff is unfriendly and unaccommodating. They charged us 48 dollars to clean our room because we stayed less than seven days. Sedona is beautiful and worth the visit but I would stay somewhere else. I would never recommend this property to anyone!

This was not a hotel guest, but rather a timeshare exchange member. Instead of paying the hotel rate of $115 plus tax per night for a total of $258.22 she paid a total of only $48 for her entire stay. Her exchange company told her of this fee in writing and it was on her registration card at check in.
