“Worth the visit”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

It is moderate to strenous. We stumbled across this hike by chance. Last stretch can be little difficult with more of climbing than walking. We were surprised what awaited us on the top--fantastic 360 views--make sure you leave enough time to spend time exploring the views. Be careful, it is much larger than it looks and make sure you orient yourself with a landmark (a range/mountain)--it is easy to get lost since there are no trails per se.

“Beautiful views...”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

Great trail for people of all ages. I gave it 4 stars because the switchbacks during the first part of the trail doesn't provide much of a challenge. Once you're passed that part, you're rewarded with quite a view. Might be a little tricky finding your way back to the switchback trails from the wide open area up top. If you don't have a good sense of direction, make note of some landmarks the further away you hike from the switchbacks. Plan to spend some time up top sitting and looking at the beautiful scenery.

“Amazing Views”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

Our family of 4 with 5 and 9 yr old boys easily hiked up Doe Mountain for a picnic lunch with some of the most amazing views ever. This is a pretty popular hike but easily doable with decent shoes and a bit of effort. Once on top, you can explore as much or little as you like. We were trying to get in some other activities so with lunch and some pictures, we were done in less than two hours. Highly recommended!

“A short steep hike but well worth it.....”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

We have hiked a lot of Sedona trails over the last couple of weeks some easier than this some much harder but I am hard pressed to recall a trail that delivers so much for relatively little effort! Once you get to the top of the Mesa be sure to take the time to walk around the top, there are some unmarked trails that lead to some of the most spectacular views of Sedona and the surrounding area you will ever see, believe me!!

“Great hiking trails”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

Very well marked and beautiful red rocks. Great scenes for beautiful pics. It is moderate to strenuous; but, we had no problem with our hiking boots on and we're in our late 50's. ENJOY!
